Fabulous to see people embracing sub-tropical planting. It's so effective used correctly and the development can be rapid! Just remember to have plenty of horticultural fleece ready for the winter. We've used lots of bananas, palms & tree ferns over the years and have never lost one with a bit of careful winter wrapping!

Thank you all so much for the positive comments. Yes - it's Bodbyn. I found ikea the easiest to get the cupboard configuration I wanted as everything is so interchangeable. Ps For some reason I thought this post had failed so I posted it again... You may see it crop up again in the feed!

Yes, take the TV off the mantel. If you have to look UP to watch TV, it’s too high. I like the TV at eye level to a seated adult, maybe a bit higher. A nice sofa and two comfortable upholstered chairs are the minimum for seating furniture. An area rug will help absorb noise and will give you an opportunity to bring in some softness and color. Coffee table, some smaller side tables, floor lamps and table lamps, art, window treatments for privacy and light control. I would consider simple stationary panels for the upper windows and roll-up panels for the lower windows.
