Hi Sam, If the doors opened outwards they would stack approximately 85cm out on to the patio at one end of the opening (they can be designed to open to whichever end suits you best). The width of this stack would only be just over 17cm if you opted for our award-winning SF55 system. With regards to the doors folding back completely against the brickwork, the required angle that the hinges would need to achieve and the weight of the door system mean this is not an option unfortunately, We can also supply French Doors, and at this size the doors would open in an arc of just under 1.3m - or you could opt for a 3 panel sliding door with 80cm panels that would not protrude out on to the patio and would have a bigger glass-to-frame ratio than bifold doors, but with the caveat that only two-thirds of the space would be open as the doors always stack behind one panel. Thanks for your comment, this is now quite an old thread and in that time, many many new sliding doors have hit the market, with many substantially better than the Cortizo product. Ultimately with sliding doors, there is no bad door or window on the market. But where they differ is who makes them, the overall supply chain and the quality of the installation. All the current products should be designed to meet or exceed industry standards for weather performance and security, as well as quality of aluminium and quality of paint finish. Where they can differ is in their aesthetics, overall sight lines, engineering, the quality of the hardware/components, the choices available and their brand perception. Any correctly made and properly fitted door should give you reliable service long term. For the gentleman in the states, it's impossible to help without knowing which brand you've had. Condensation is caused by so many issues not *just* the windows and doors and often it is a lack of airflow in the home. Otherwise it does sound like manufacturing and installation issues, rather than a product fault. I have been thinking if the glass above could be could be just 2 big panes either side of the centre, if this would then allow 3 door slider without looking too odd ?! but I think the 2 would probably look best. Thanks for the idea for pocket sliders, I’ll ask the builder but the research I’ve done online sounds like would add quite a big cost unfortunately. Definitely worth checking! I’m getting an ultraline sliding door fitted in our new extension in a few weeks. 2.4 high x 4.4 wide. The frames are 20mm. It’s about £10k and I can’t remember off the top of my head whether that includes VAT (probably not unfortunately). But our number one goal with our extension is to connect our living space to our garden, so it feels right to prioritise budget for it. You don’t need a local company necessarily as national companies will have local agents who have product in their showrooms. This has been tricky over the last few months but we also looked at local friends’ houses last summer, where they had installed various different brands of sliders and bifolds, and were able to get a good feel for them from their gardens!
