Kitchen Floor Uneven

Hello,
I've just bought my first house and the kitchen floor is abit uneven which we knew about from the survey. Anyway it needs a new kitchen anyway. My questions is-who do I contact first, a screeder or kitchen fitter? I am presuming it's better to rip the kitchen out, sort the floor and then put the units in? And will somewhere rip the kitchen out and wait for us to get the floor sorted ASAP and then come back to do the units? I would prefer someone who knows what they are doing to rip it out. Thank you

I wonder if a decent kitchen fitter can arrange all this for you? Maybe not but worth asking them. When we did ours we removed the old kitchen, had the floor boarded as it was floorboards ( in your case screed it), then we laid the floor tiles on top edge to edge, then finally fitted the kitchen. We also set up a temporary kitchen in the living room with a microwave, kettle and slow cooker. It was a lifesaver! Wish you lots of luck in your new home.

I agree with Sonia- if you can find someone who will deal with the whole project then that will be so much more efficient. Unless you’re living somewhere else you really want to minimise your time without a kitchen.

Uneven gaps between skirting and flooring

I had the same issue. Not helped by my flooring experts being absolute cowboys. The gaps were sometimes quite wide. I selected a silicone colour that was similar to the flooring. I decided using white silicone would create a more obvious unevenness. The skirting boards are straight so using white would have made them noticeably vary. It is the floor that has the issue, and it is at the floor level I wanted to disguise it. So I have a brown silicone. It is actually very useful for keeping out drafts and it gives insects no place to hide. Just use masking tape on the bottom of the skirting and along the floor. Run your silicone and then pull away the tape to give yourself a clean finish. Anyone can do it.
