I need to source wall lights for an industrial style bedroom that can be plugged in to a standard UK plug socket, similar in style to the Addison Pharmacy Swing Arm Wall Lamp by House of Troy. Finish needs to be brass. Does anyone have any ideas?

What a great picture, and a design that could easily be adjusted for your site, in terms of both hard landscaping and soft landscaping for a Cheshire site. The elements of slabs, wooden boards, rendered walls, low hidden water feature and lush low-maintenance planting can be achieved on a small budget. Water features surprisingly cost quite a bit, even a simple rill such as in the picture with small bubbling jets and lighting. To keep the cost down, you could look for concrete slabs, and use a softer wood and then stain it to the colour you want, rather than going for an expensive Iroko wooden board. Of course, once you start staining you will need a regular care schedule of cleaning it and re-staining it. Perhaps if the budget will allow, you could spend more on say composite decking boards and a stylish piece of furniture, and then use cheaper products elsewhere. A good Internet search will reveal some great products, but don't get carried away. Stick to your idea of how the garden should look and be strict with yourself. I agree with Emily about using plants. People who know their plants are not as common as you think or hope. Nursery owners are a far better source of information than Landscapers. Generally those going under the title Landscaper are more into construction and often have no plant knowledge. I am generalising of course. In an open area like that you have a lot of choice for planting but things which won't get blown down by the wind will be important factor. Sturdy ornamental grasses like the shorter varieties of Miscanthus ('Yakushima Dwarf' or 'Kliene Fontaine' for instance) would be an easy reliable choice, high enough to screen the tank cover completely. Cutting back in Spring is the only attention they would need.

Thanks everyone for your answers. They are very useful comments. Unfortunately, they came a bit late for us as we had scheduled the planting already. We had a meeting with both our designers and the landscapers and they ensured us the soil is much better than topsoil you can buy because it will have beneficial microbes etc. We don't know if it was a lie or not and after seeing all your comments we might have made the wrong decision in keeping the soil. Anyway, our garden is now finished and hopefully our plants will grow well and not get any diseases. We have definitely learned from this experience for the future. This was the first time we had hired contractors and next time we will make sure that there is plenty of communication at every step. Thanks again to everyone!
