Paint Fireplaces Home Decorating

Brick wall paint

Hi
I want to paint this fire place but want to retain the original colour. My builder doesn't know the name of the product. I called some stores and they couldn't say either.
If anyone has painted something like this, please suggest the name of the product and where can I find it?

You want to paint it but retain the original colour? Then why not just clean it up and apply a sealer?

How about warm yellow? I think it will go together with bricks and would be a good contrast to dark floor and black cooker. Yellow is an optimistic and cheerful colour and often is associated with food. /Marcin

Thank you so much everyone, you've given me loads to think about, and the mock up was really helpful oneplan I like the f&b gray green house colour Minnie, but not so much with red brick, funny I'd saved that photo from google too, it's a lovely looking house with yellow tone brick. I will have to buy a new front door, to change the colour, it's upvc. I really love the idea of house name in window above door. I liked the idea of grey, but now I'm getting nervous, the row of houses could look disjointed bit like this.... Whereas the White / sand ? ill get some testers for next weekend and keep you posted.

Hand held angle grinder and patience. You also need to consider how you intend to fill the gaps where the bricks are broken within the wall structure. Also do you own the wall or is it a neighbouring property as hacking off their bricks is a real no no! Might be an idea to attach a trellis and grow something over these as they are not attractive bricks.

It’s probably limewash.
Practice on some other bricks before painting the most visible feature in your house, don’t forget limewash is corrosive so lots of safety goggles, gloves and dust sheets, with the window open…… and be prepared to apply 3 thin coats rather than one thick coat ….water it down significantly (3parts water to 1 part limewash).

The pointing seems to be more of a problem than anything else. If it was pointed properly it may improve the look? There are also specialist brick cleaners and sealers which may help. I’ve never used these products so I can’t vouch for them.
