You absolutely can change the window layout.

Here is an alternative plan. You would need to investigate the fall on the soil pipe. A macerator may be necessary

We did think about the plan you drew. What's your thoughts on the original layout shower by smaller window, followed by loo, sink then walk through to small dressing area and space by the stairs walk in wardrobe?

Your plan for this master bedroom there is no obvious place for a bed. In my mind that’s an epic fail.

I think you need to plan it to size. I think you are planning a master bedroom that is less than 9’ wide. If you have a big bed there is a chance you won’t even be able to open the door. Add to this a low ceiling height (inevitable in most loft conversions) it’s a poor master bedroom and frankly rooms on the floor below would probably be better. Consider having two attic bedrooms and no bathroom and then creating a master bedroom from two bedrooms downstairs.

From the picture it's an 18' dormer, with 6' floor to ceiling windows...my penciled drawing with pocket doors no good then?

We have a window for the original ensuite plans, would permitted dev allow us to remove this??

are the windows facing the back or the front, if the back, then it's normally much easier to change in the planning, but either should go through in my opinion. If u want u can also add a window in the ensuit as well.

Windows are back facing, plans originally had window in stairwell. Window in galley ensuite above shower to maximise natural light. 6 ft floor to ceiling windows and small windows above toilet

The most recent pic with a dressing room entrance…… I estimate that space is 20’ front you back where yours is 15’. So in my opinion it’s too tight.

You can create a wow factor by having large glazing through out that whole wall.

I think it's better to have large comfortable bed and open space, than small bed and more cramped space to fit all the components you want.

Both my OH and I are tall people, so I'm always concerned about head clearance.

The reasons why we've done a 6ft window is for the views....can't find the height but OH is 6ft tall. And we're actually lowering the ceiling to get this done. It's an 1930 style house

Consider having the bathroom not en-suite, somehow have the bedroom and bathroom doors at the top of the stairs. That way you get an extra bathroom which is useable for everyone and more choice around bedrooms (eg keep the biggest bedroom as ‘master’ and use the loft as kid’s bedroom/playroom or guest room).

Plumber came today- he said the plans are drawn based on easiest access to soil pipe..so big job and expense if we wanted ensuite move to other side of loft by stairs

No bathroom on this level, split it into two bedrooms then you have a great master on the level below by combining two bedrooms

I was just thinking about this……. If the soil pipe is anchored to that side of the house then surely the main stairs are too. So why are the loft stairs on the opposite side?

I'm so glad you said that Jonathan!! I was just thinking the same thing yesterday and flipping the stairs to the opposite side by the soil pipe .do you think that poses any issues from planning??

Jonathan - this is the floor below...was thinking possibly relocate the staircase where the bathroom is, currently there is a water tank in there which we can relocate into the eaves of the loft so it's out the way.

I prefer the staircase to be over the original house stairs- it seems a better use of space. And based exclusively on plans I can’t see how it would be more difficult to build.

Completely agree! Moving the staircase above the original staircase and eating into the existing bathroom makes so much better of use of space, I will reach out to loft company- hopefully this doesn't pose any issues. Thanks again. I'm going to share your drawings to the loft company 😊
