I’m looking for joinery advice.
I have an alcove measuring 800 mm wide × 520 mm deep × 2200 mm high beside my new Wren kitchen.
Rather than putting shelves back, as used as a sort of book case before, I’m thinking of building a hidden coffee pantry with two full-height shaker doors, quartz worktop, dark oak shelves, LED lighting and internal drawers.
The doors will be made by a joiner and professionally colour-matched to the Wren kitchen.
Would you build this differently? Is there a better way to construct it? What hinges and internal layout would you recommend? This is a pic of the actual alcove and a ChatGPT image of what I think it could look like. The kitchen is being fitted just now so need to chat with the fitters to see if this is something they can do. Any advice would be so gratefully received. Thank you.
