We chose a beautiful inky blue for this London Living room to feel fresh in the daytime when the sun streams in and cozy in the evening when it would otherwise feel quite cold. The colour also complements the original fireplace tiles. We took the colour across the walls and woodwork, including the alcoves, and skirting boards, to create a perfect seamless finish. Balanced by the white floor, shutters and lampshade there is just enough light to keep it uplifting and atmospheric. The final additions were a complementary green velvet sofa, luxurious touches of gold and brass and a glass table and mirror to make the room sparkle by bouncing the light from the metallic finishes across the glass and onto the mirror

This custom-built media wall was designed and installed by Happy Space Design to elevate a contemporary living room in Borehamwood. The sleek, dark grey cabinetry stretches wall-to-wall, housing a flush-mounted TV, integrated soundbar shelf, and symmetrical open shelving. Soft LED lighting adds warmth and highlights the curated arrangement of books and ceramics. Lower cabinetry offers concealed storage with a clean, handle-less finish. Every element is made-to-measure, providing both elegance and practicality while complementing the light wood flooring and overall modern aesthetic. A perfect example of bespoke joinery tailored to both lifestyle and space.

The dark green walls contrast with the light furniture. The area rug brings together the living room space in the living/dining room.

Mid century modern furniture in teal and mustards give a stylish feel to this compact living room. Floating alcove shelves and a mantlepiece were built set off against striking deep coloured walls painted in Farrow & Ball's Stiffkey blue and Plummett grey. An unused alcove area was zoned to be a useful work space with a two-tone wooden desk. Carefully curated art deco-inspired pieces were also added including an impactful hexagonal gold hanging mirror on the chimney breast; dramatic gold and frosted glass domed pendant lights; and a stylish marble drinks trolley. Whilst other accessories were selected in matching yellow tones.

Age of Reason cushion customer Helen styled her "Love is The Drug" pill cushion beautifully on this cozy armchair. The sheepskin and palm details really offset the pill. We also love the dark feature of the chimney breast; this works really well if going dark all over is too much for you Helen is @chez_thistlecroft on Instagram.

Botanic and Art Deco. We will see more botanic and green tones that take us back to the Art Deco period. Retro harmony appears in the blend of colours like light grey, red, dark coffee and brushed brass. Dusty rose and dusty grey paired with brass for a refined and slightly retro colour story. Heavy textiles and colours are mixed together for a rich look playing the undertones of the Art Deco style. Florals are combined with branches and stem to give a sense of structure to floral patterns, and vary from curvilinear and flowing to stiffer placements.
