I like the rod between the cabinets. Like the idea of a pull-out drying rack but wouldn't want it right above the washer/dryer as we'd probably be using them. Placement elsewhere?

Could this hanging rod work on wall opposite the w/d? We need both a hanging rod deep and sturdy - and a drying rack. Also think about ironing options. We currently have an ironing board mounted within a narrow cabinet on our wall - I like that it's hidden until used.

like that the drying rack can fold flush against the wall. I believe they also have a hanging rod - which should be sturdy AND deep enough to hang pants, shirts, etc.
