Reply to: The hardwood floors you have can be matched, as Marie said. I have hardwood in kitchen and like it. Do the dogs scratch the hardwood in other areas of house. Is the hardwood a good color to mask the dog tracks? You could find a tile that is similar color to wood. This one is gorgeous with different shaped tiles. Here is a transition from wood-porcelain tile to wood. Note the grain lines do not run the same way (maybe this is good for transition?). I think it looks pretty good, what do you think?

Reply to: You have a fairly large bevel on the existing floor, so lacing in a new wood into the existing floor might be hard. One option would be to create a transition boarder.
