both? i have white shaker perimeter and quarter sawn oak island. it really is like a lovely piece of furniture. i liked it to be dark, but didnt want dark cabinets looming over my head. some day, after i die, if someone wants to change the island, or paint it to match the rest of the cabinets, they can knock themselves out.
