If we have windows on either side of the fireplace, I like this configuration of the windows with shelving and the scale of window/shelving to fireplace best:). The fireplace can be stone or wood.

I like this configuration 2nd best, but I would want shelves around the bench seating like the 1st picture. Would also want fireplace to go to the ceiling.
