Stacked design -- not only for saving space, but for saving labor and back -- laundry moves from Upper to Lower by gravity, plus the washer level is at reach-in height, with folding area right next to it. Hmm!

Note width of cubbies. Contrasting bench versus all one color. Overhead storage -- make it count, going UP is a better way than going out. I am wondering if what we want is some cubbies for kids and something else for adults. I, personally, have a number of coats I'll hang, but need a lot of shoe/boot space. Hmmmm

Consider color, again. Not all just white. Love the cushions, or the dark trim above. (match to Kraftmaid? buy midnite paint?

OK, see the huge bins above? Again, think UP for storage. I like this. Need the space below benches for shoes, but what about TWO shelves, so shoes can stay quasi organized? Again let's look at reality of space vs one cubby/person. And build for future expansion....

If I can find or create the right top for this, it's a SIMPLE build w/ 1/4s, non-treated but distressed, ala the plan from the Man site. It comes 48w 16d 28h... I would make 48w, 24d, 38h for folding counter, just slightly higher than a counter... or maybe same height?!
