This floor has been "whitewashed"..........not exactly sure what this means but it really cuts down on the contrast between the light and dark wood of the planks

We're having locally milled birch flooring throughout our house. Unless we order all light wood, it will be variegated like this floor. I don't think it's possible for us to order all dark
