This look? I think the RR ties work here because everything else is incredibly clean, so the contrast brings life to what might otherwise be sterile. At our house, it would look too 1960s granola. -K. RD- agree.

More conventional with a cap? I prefer no cap, steel. Ray and I need to determine what we can agree on for planter material/style. Again, interested in cost differences between materials, as this might help us decide. A cap is good for sitting on, but I'd use a stool. Still think I prefer pea rock to DG :[ -K. I like this construction method, where the slat meets the post in the center, so it is not "faced" Hmm. Not so much. Feels a little "ranch-y," not as in Calif ranch house, but as in, where's the horses? Maybe I'm missing something... -K

Uniform slat size? No cap ( last slat hits sky)? LOVE LOVE the fence design (no cap, very clean!, integrated gate, longer boards than pic at left/"Shades of Green..."), color, height. Very elegant. Better than the "Menlo Park Modern" fence. Guess I'm learning that I do like the feeling of seclusion. The tree that pokes up from behind the fence is an element I like and have neglected to mention. Like the concrete and rockscape and the textural contrast between the rocks and the fence. Not the pot at left. -K. P.S. I realize that there is very little gap between the slats. That's fine. I just know that viscerally, in my soul, I'm in love with this whole picture. Except the pot ;)

The three slat sizes on the fence? Also the arrangement of the Cordyline ( the purple plants) would be like the agaves No on varying slat sizes. Do want agaves profiled against fence, but not in the middle of fence sections like this. Ray & I just talked and he agrees -K.
