Hi, thanks for your comment. I love the door also. The door is made from Honduran mahogany. It is painted, not stained - i don't have a record of the paint color at this point. it was from Finnerna and Haley, a now defunct paint company.

By working with a local craftsperson, you can make a door like this just for your opening, you can minimize shipping cost (real wood isn't light like fiberglass or fake wood), you can also learn about wood species and understand if you are really getting mahogany (which is really expensive to source) or a mahogany like wood which will give you the same look you want but is less expensive.
