An interesting treatment of a vertical fireplace. Not in love with it but not terrible either.
This one is out there but kind of beautiful. One could frame the fireplace like this and the top of the frame would serve as a mantel.

I thought the integration with the bookshelves was well done.
This was very interesting. I like the materials and the simple wood mantle. I realize we can't get a "white box" cavity but it was interesting.
This is the only horizontal one in the album. I thought it was an interesting transitional treatment.
