4. Go for the GoldThe designer of this space dressed the walls for a party. The golden accents continue in the mirror, the faucet, the hardware and, as you’ll see if you look into the mirror, more mirrors on the opposite wall.Design takeaway: Powder rooms are a great space to go over-the-top with patterns and shapes. This bathroom boasts a geometrical patterned wallpaper and mirror that steal the show.
6. Ombre MosaicThe ombre trend isn’t loved by everyone, but this tile wall might quell even its toughest critics. Transitioning from dark gray to nearly white, it connects the floors and the walls while opening up the space in an elegant, subtle way. Design takeaway: Because storage isn’t likely to be a priority in powder rooms, it’s a great space to feature a vessel sink with no cabinets.
Island drinks station. Rather than let the space at the end of the island go to waste, this homeowner installed a beverage refrigerator. Since guests are forever congregating around the kitchen island, this setup makes it easy for them to serve themselves — without getting in the way of the chef. Bar fridge: Vinopazzo, AG International; island cabinetry paint: Kendall Charcoal HC-166, Benjamin Moore; floor tile: Duomo in cream, Midgley West; countertop: quartz; pendant lights: Union Lighting
