Everyone tells me that type of wood is "so soft"! and has really discouraged me from using it. Also from using anything wider than 5 inches?! I love the look though! This floor is 25 years old? Thank you!!! 1 Like Bookmark August 8, 2011 at 12:46PM mimajaws yes and it has been refinished three times,it is not tounge and groove,it's simply one inch by twelve inch shelving.i was told the same,so i took my best friend with me to hardware store and hand picked twelve hundred square feet! we had her son inlaw and my son install it,top nailed it and contractor's glue.she and i refinished it on our hands and knees.you do get some dishing but that's the beauty of it!
