Ideas that work

Pretty sure I've saved this image to my Ideabooks before - it's an inspired use of sombre, moody yet vibrant colour. And the portraits are the stars of the scheme - as they should be.

Traditional elements (plates on wall, formal dining furniture etc) work really well with modern elements - plates arranged in an abstract, informal shape, the deep charcoal walls... fantastic.

I have so much artwork that I love - I can't possibly display it all. This is a great idea for exhibiting the smaller items, the ones that perhaps aren't right for a formal lounge or dining room, but that I love all the same. This way I would still get to see them - they are not hidden away in the dark.
