Simple slate tiles could be nice and make a really cool feature on the wall. But I do want to put a pice of art (likely the Edwina oil painting) over the fireplace so the color can't clash or pverpower the art.

What I like about this is the dual texture, sleek but craftsman-y. But with the soaring ceiling I'm not sure we don't need something more grand.
