Alfonso was recommended by the firm of architects he used to work for which was a good start! They didn’t want the job as it was ‘too small’ (£450K!). We clicked straight away and from the start he managed the tender process with the builders as well as local council compliance. We ended up taking his recommendation as far as builders were concerned as he had worked with them before. He came up with fantastic designs for the house and once we decided which way to go work commenced within a month. Of course there were technical problems, delay problems and budget problems but these were mitigated with aplomb as Alfonso managed the project expertly and efficiently. He helped us choose bathrooms and came with us to view, as well as other interior detail such as flooring, lighting etc. his expert opinion was always appreciated. He made a weekly site visit and was on hand at all times liaising between us & the builder. He is very knowledgeable and put our minds at rest continuously. I genuinely don’t have anything negative to say and would highly recommend.

Alfonso has worked on 2 main projects in my property. The first one was to modernise a 3-storey staircase, redesign the living room and adding more light to an existing side extension in the kitchen. I immediately connected with Alfonso as he takes the time to listen to the client, getting the vibe of the project. I always have a pretty good idea of what I would like to achieve and it is important for me to be on the same wavelength as the architect without feeling like the project will fit the design they want to achieve or something they are familiar with. Alfonso understands that this is your space and that he is helping you to make it exactly right for you. He brings in good ideas and suggestions which I always took on board as he really invests himself in the project. He is meticulous, refuses to cut corners and takes pride in delivering the best project within budget. The second project was to redesign a guest room into a stylish reading/chilling room with a hidden bed for occasional guests. The brief was to use black Valchromat. Alfonso delivered a stunning design which always amazes whoever sees it for the first time. Alfonso will be in charge all my new design projects in the future and I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to achieve a beautiful project.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Alfonso. He really tried to understand what was important for us individually and designed the house around it creating something truly special. We had an immediate click with Alfonso regarding the style of the design for our 2 story extension. We wanted to combine old with very modern and minimalist, creating something very useable and open whilst being bold and yet respecting the balance and harmony in the 100-year-old building from previous work done, and in line with the white, grey and black with only red or raspberry pink accents interior, using a lot of steel and glass without making it cold. We had an idea in our head and needed an architect's talents to translate all of it into a functioning design. We had a few recommendations but nobody got even close to our vision. Alfonso understood where we wanted to go and basically asked 'how far' we wanted to go. It only took a few iterations with minimal changes to get to where we are now. A beautiful, stylish, modern design that took a bit of pushing with our local rather conservative planning team and has had a WOW response from all our friends and neighbours. Alfonso has so far managed the project very well, found the right kitchen company for us, and the right tiles, glass and builders, managed all the surveying and technical design, organised the quote and will from May onwards also manage the actual build. we can't wait, it is going to be so beautiful.

It has been a joy working with Alfonso from TA+ Studios. He took the time to understand our lifestyle and rhythm of our home and also our design preferences and style. Alfonso was extremely diligent in understanding what would and would not be possible in our Local Authority area, adjusting as we went along, thereby saving both time and money so that our planning application went through smoothly first time.
