We could not be happier with the work that Sturdy Evolution recently undertook for us. We’d contacted a few potential developers to enquire about converting our loft, but soon realised that Sturdy Evolution were the clear winners when it came to eye for detail, knowledge, trustworthiness and overall quality. They weren’t the cheapest, but nor were they the most expensive - and the end results are far beyond our expectations. We were able to live at home throughout the process - no mean feat considering there were two young, curious kids always keen to chat to Mike and the team! - and the disruption to our lives was kept to a more than manageable minimum. Our property and privacy were respected throughout and, despite the amount of serious structural alterations required, our house somehow remained spotless - they even did a full professional clean of the property once the work was complete. Mike gave us plenty of opportunities to provide input and tweak the spec to our individual requirements, but somehow never pestered us with anything that didn’t truly require our feedback. We also found Mike to be incredibly accessible and patient with my numerous questions - he was always happy to chat through any queries, provide examples of previous work, or guidance on possible fixtures, finishes, etc. Even more importantly, Sturdy Evolution stuck rigidly to the agreed budget - even though the end results were definitely an improvement on what we’d originally asked for! Covid-19 rather hampered their ability to deliver everything exactly on-time but, considering the incredible logistical challenges that the pandemic presented, Mike and the team did an amazing job of avoiding any lengthier delays. The end results of Sturdy Evolution’s work are impeccable. Obviously, with a project of this size, some snagging was required - but, whenever anything arose, Mike and his team would come around without delay, assess, advise and ultimately resolve. We can’t fault the finish - from layout to storage to skylights to bathroom fittings, everything has been built and installed beautifully. And, given that we’ve now made an enforced tradition to working from home, we really can say that the work Sturdy Evolution undertook for us has changed our lives - entirely for the better! On a day-to-day level, I honestly cannot put into words how conscientious and considerate Mike and his team were. Not once did we have any complaints about noise or mess - and, from start to finish, the team were an absolute delight with our whole family. The only disappointment from our kids’ perspective was that, when the work was completed, they didn’t get to see Mike and Co every day! In short, we could not recommend Sturdy Evolution highly enough - please don’t hesitate to contact them if you’d like to have more details of the work they did for us or to speak to us directly about any questions you may have.

We hired Sturdy Evolution to see through a significant enlargment of our terraced Victorian house in South East London, including a side return extension and a loft conversion. Work was done to an exceptionally high standard, completed pretty much on time (despite the many covid complications), and on budget. Mike was a pleasure to work with throughout the project - always available and communicative, straightforward and honest, with an excellent eye for detail. His team on site (led by the wonderful Peter and Martyn on the loft and bricklaying legend Erick downstairs) were always considerate, courteous and friendly. The site was always kept clean and tidy, and to be honest they were all so lovely we were sad to see them leave! We felt exceptionally well looked after from start to finish - as we stayed in the property through the duration of the works, Mike and his team have built us a temporary kitchen of dreams - not the usual washing up bucket and a hot plate - our old kitchen was taken apart, cut down, and reused for a temporary kitchen in our back reception with the oven, cooker, sink, fridge etc. all plumbed in, powered up and operational. This temporary kitchen was so lovely we were joking around the dinner table about how we don't really need anything more! But walking into the completed extension on the first day was a joy and a revelation, and we have been loving our new home to no end. We can recommend Mike and his team whole heartedly and with no reservations!

We used Sturdy Evolution to do a complete renovation of our famoiy home (a Victorian terraced house in South East London). We gutted the whole house and changed the entire layout, adding a side return, and adding 2 new bathrooms. From the start Mike was great and the project kept to schedule even with covid. Mike helped advise all the way throughout. The finish is to high level and the bespoke carpentry work is beautiful! We are extremely pleased with the finished project and would highly recommend Sturdy Evolution. We would happily recommend and we would use them again. After care has been excellent and Mike has answered questions and been available as required.

I couldn’t imagine going through a loft conversion and house renovation with a small child and during a pandemic without someone as focused, understanding and trust worthy! All done to budget, on time with a great on site team (our daughter still misses them..) and most importantly we love our new home..

We found Mike and the team at Sturdy Evolution via some local recommendations and were one of three quotes we received for our extension project - a single story rear kitchen extension incorporating a glass corner unit and a spiral staircase connecting our upstairs neighbours to the garden. We really liked their approach and the line-by-line clarity on the costs, as well as the commitment to our tight timeline (we had the birth of our first child approaching fast and needed the project to be completed within 8 weeks). After some clear consultation meetings, we agreed the scope of works and timeline and the project began. Mike’s team were respectful of us living in the property whilst the work was going on and kept the place clean and tidy. We also worked through any unexpected issues in a sensible way and found a solution quickly. Mike was easily contactable throughout and the work was completed on time and within budget. We are very pleased with the finished result and the quality of the building work.
