Prior to this project, my clients had only had a small shower room. I drew up plans to knock together that space with an adjoining spare bedroom / storage room to create a light, open family bathroom with bath and separate shower. I also designed the bespoke vanity unit with countertop sink and tiled top, along with a floor-to-ceiling storage cupboard with routered joinery detail to store all the household towels and linen. The clients had experienced problems previously with laying stone tiles on this particular floor, so we chose this patterned vinyl flooring, which lifts the otherwise neutral scheme.

When we first entered Wick Street Farm, we discovered a perfect gem preserved in a time warp. Dusty old attics steeped in vintage relics and antique papers with soaring 16th/17th Century timber frames painted a picture of historic Stroud. Remarkable features such as early plasterwork, undulating elm floors, beautiful pieces of stone masonry, panelled screens and leaded windows were also a conservation architects dream. Much of the work demanded sensitive restoration although we took the opportunity to connect the two buildings and add an extra wing to create a more modern house with several high-quality additions.
