Farmhouse Kitchen in Great Bealings
Farmhouse Kitchen in Great Bealings
Ray Munn KitchensRay Munn Kitchens
We had the privilege of transforming the kitchen space of a beautiful Grade 2 listed farmhouse located in the serene village of Great Bealings, Suffolk. The property, set within 2 acres of picturesque landscape, presented a unique canvas for our design team. Our objective was to harmonise the traditional charm of the farmhouse with contemporary design elements, achieving a timeless and modern look. For this project, we selected the Davonport Shoreditch range. The kitchen cabinetry, adorned with cock-beading, was painted in 'Plaster Pink' by Farrow & Ball, providing a soft, warm hue that enhances the room's welcoming atmosphere. The countertops were Cloudy Gris by Cosistone, which complements the cabinetry's gentle tones while offering durability and a luxurious finish. The kitchen was equipped with state-of-the-art appliances to meet the modern homeowner's needs, including: - 2 Siemens under-counter ovens for efficient cooking. - A Capel 90cm full flex hob with a downdraught extractor, blending seamlessly into the design. - Shaws Ribblesdale sink, combining functionality with aesthetic appeal. - Liebherr Integrated tall fridge, ensuring ample storage with a sleek design. - Capel full-height wine cabinet, a must-have for wine enthusiasts. - An additional Liebherr under-counter fridge for extra convenience. Beyond the main kitchen, we designed and installed a fully functional pantry, addressing storage needs and organising the space. Our clients sought to create a space that respects the property's historical essence while infusing modern elements that reflect their style. The result is a pared-down traditional look with a contemporary twist, achieving a balanced and inviting kitchen space that serves as the heart of the home. This project exemplifies our commitment to delivering bespoke kitchen solutions that meet our clients' aspirations. Feel inspired? Get in touch to get started.

This living room, part of the New England & Cape Cod–inspired home by Studio212 Ltd, blends calm comfort with carefully detailed design. At the centre, a bespoke media wall with integrated fireplace and floating cabinetry is framed by illuminated shelving, providing both display and storage. The shelving composition is styled with layered artwork, ceramics, and greenery to create a curated yet relaxed atmosphere. Above, a Lira Lighting circular pendant anchors the space and highlights the architectural ceiling recess. The layout is grounded by sofas from Camerich, paired with a nested marble-and-glass coffee table that adds sculptural elegance. A soft New King carpet completes the scheme, adding warmth and texture underfoot. The result is a family living space that feels sophisticated, comfortable, and deeply connected to its architectural setting.

This study room was created by removing a wall and replacing it with Crittall style folding glass doors opening up the space making it feel much larger. We built wall to wall, floor to ceiling bookcases for the client's many books and created a faux fireplace painted to look like black marble. A large white silk lamp shade hangs from the ceiling. A Gallery wall of art work and a mid century burnt orange wingback chair complete the room.

A calming and contemporary yet classic renovation to this existing living room with original period features, such as a cornice and traditional fireplace. The existing floors were sanded and stained to retain the natural grain, and a paint - plaster hybrid material was applied to the walls up to a natural picture rail line. The wall finish is textured thus creates movement of light across its surface. The alcove units and the coffee table are also bespoke and designed in house by Studio Hallett Ike.

The bathroom is a compact space with low ceilings, so I wanted to make it feel as light and airy as possible. I kept the colours natural, adding texture and special luxurious touches with the terrazzo, sheer curtain, fluted glass, and tiles. These rich but subtle details catch your eye, making the room feel bigger. The green glazed shower tiles pick up on the specks in the terrazzo floor tiles, and the Carrara marble skirting board adds luxury and creates another level of finish. I specified ABI Interiors matching brassware. Their electric heated individual towel rails can be turned on and off whenever you need them to save energy. The shower controls are located just outside the shower enclosure, so you can turn the shower on in advance and let it warm up a little before you enter. To maximise storage, I included an Aqua Roc basin with drawers underneath. The Carrara marble ledge and Tika Moon walnut wall unit provide even more space for my clients to stash things away. The freestanding bath and circular Spark and Bell wall lights add softness and curves. The sheer curtain is mounted on a wave track to give a lovely, rippled effect. Seahorses is a stunning new home near Falmouth enjoying magnificent panoramic views of the south coast seascape. Sitting on the clifftops within an AONB, the house and gardens occupy a gently sloping site that connects with the adjacent South West Coastal Path. The context and terrain of the surrounding landscape informed the design and an imaginative and ambitious solution to site levels was crucial to the success of the scheme. As a result, the completed house is lower than the original, thus creating privacy for the occupants whilst still respecting neighbouring homes. The split-level, linear design is carefully organised around a spine wall of local granite that runs from the exterior of the building through the interior. This arrangement allows the living areas and bedrooms to connect with the landscape and integrate seamlessly with outdoor spaces. A mix of grasses, sedum and indigenous coastal plants on the green roof help to embed the building into its surroundings. The palette of natural materials creates a layered, permeable effect on the exterior, which will season with time and weather, thereby allowing it to assimilate into its coastal setting. Of equal importance was landscaping, which was integral to the design intent. With thoughtful positioning of the new dwelling, significant areas of mature and established planting were protected and retained. Photograph: Elliott White Photography

This Edinburgh Extension used the existing structure and built onto it to create a new study at the 1st floor level. We created a floating desk supported by shelving on one side and floating fixings and brackets on the other. The wood is oak veneered MDF with solid oak lippings. It is finished in Osmo polyx oil in Raw to maintain the light colour. We specified the Astro 'Atelier' series for the lighting.
