Whilst hunting to buy the perfect property in London an executive in the oil industry and his partner chose to rent a well proportioned Victorian apartment not far from Dulwich Park. The client was keen to make his temporary pied a terre warm and inviting but it made little sense to completely repaint or wallpaper. Taking inspiration from the age and architecture of the property, as well as, the modern Victorian aesthetic of House of Hackney, a modern maximalist look was born. Sumptuous colours and fabrics were chosen to make the space rich and cocooning. Ornaments, photographs and art work are displayed alongside the clients' book collection to create a relaxed, eclectic space that can now be called home.
