Timeless Mereway Kitchen in Worthing, West Sussex With a clean and light feel, this kitchen renovation from Worthing, West Sussex boasts a timeless dynamic, perfectly tailored to fit the space with both traditional and contemporary kitchen features. Housed in a traditional Worthing home a stone’s throw from our Worthing showroom is this elegant British kitchen that is packed with kitchen features and accessories. Managing director Phil has designed this almost entirely using our virtual appointment service, this project is a fantastic example of the results that can be achieved using our online services. The brief for this project was a contemporary upgrade on the existing kitchen, which can be viewed below. Much of the kitchen layout has stayed the same as the original, with an island replacing the original octagonal peninsula island. Upgrades have been made throughout the space to suit the lifestyle of this client, with enhanced in-cupboard storage solutions used so there is no need for clutter in the kitchen. The Previous Kitchen Many features of the previous kitchen have been adapted into the new kitchen space. The original octagonal island has been replaced with a stand-alone island and Corian work surfaces have again been used at the client’s request to give a neat flowing appearance to the worktops. The layout of the kitchen is much the same with a wall-to-wall run replacing the previous L shaped layout opposite the island. Curved units replace the previous chamfered exposed shelving with a plenty of wine storage featuring on the opposite side of the new island. Kitchen Furniture To create this clean and quintessential kitchen space, British supplier Mereway have been selected. Mereway have one of the vastest collections of shaker style furniture, with the client opting to use the contemporary Charnwood range for their renovation. The Cashmere colour option has been used for the kitchen with the client choosing a lighter kitchen tone to keep the space feeling light and airy. The Charnwood range also gives this project flexibility with the option of curved units and heaps of neat storage and design features. To complement furniture, chrome doorknobs and shell handles have been used for simple and stylish access. Kitchen Appliances To bring functionality to this kitchen space, Neff appliances have been used throughout with a double oven, gas hob, undermounted fridge and built-in extractor all included as part of the renovation. The Neff N70 gas hob has been integrated into the island space with the built-in extractor directly above. This hob boasts five burning areas, with a dual ring wok burner included for fast cooking. Neff FlameSelect technology features on this appliance with the precise option of nine cleverly controlled gas flows. The extraction system above this hob is another similar inclusion to the original kitchen but has been scaled back in size to ensure that there is a clean sight across the kitchen space. A remote control built into this appliance operates this hob with a stainless-steel panel descending to channel cooking odours and scents into the extraction system. A Wifi enabled Neff double oven and integrated Neff fridge have been integrated behind furniture for extra cold storage and extra cooking capabilities. Kitchen Accessories One of the most alluring inclusions in this kitchen is the beautiful Corian work surfaces. Selected in the Limestone Prima finish, these worktops create a beautiful flowing aesthetic through their acrylic composition and alluring options. The Limestone Prima choice for this project uses a light grey base with flecks and earthy veining to create a fantastic appearance. The Corian surface expands out to the main window in this kitchen, with a seamless join between the crisp white kitchen sink and worksurface with integrated drainer grooves into the sink and heat mat aside the hob. Above the Corian worktop upstands, trendy white metro tiling has been fitted up to wall units where undercabinet LED lighting beams down, illuminating the food preparation areas. Kitchen Features A vast selection of kitchen features has enabled the client to put their own unique twist on their kitchen space. Inventive storage solutions in both corners of the u-shape kitchen area help maximise storage with pull out drawers integrated into a tall unit opposite the oven. As mentioned, an integrated wine store has been included in the rear of the island with storage for twenty-four bottles. Alongside the run of units on the right-hand side of this kitchen a decorative area has been created by combining exposed shelving and glass fronted units. This has been used by the client to store glassware and books in a nicely finished fashion. Curved units have been used to soften any harsh edges in this kitchen, with the Corian carefully fabricated around the curves to create a nice soft feel about the space. The Royal Mile Kitchen perfects the collaboration between contemporary & character features in this beautiful, historic home. The kitchen uses a clean and fresh colour scheme with White Quartz worktops and Inchyra Blue painted handleless cabinets throughout. The ultra-sleek large island provides a stunning centrepiece and makes a statement with its wraparound worktop. The Ben Heath bespoke window seat has been painted in a colour to compliment the blinds and to distinguish it from the kitchen cabinets although the design is the same. The dresser to the left has an oak oiled top with oak door fittings to provide extra storage space - maximising the use of walls in the small kitchen/diner. This renovation in Hitchin features Next125, the renowned German range, which is a perfect choice for a contemporary look that is stylish and sleek and built to the highest standards. We love how the run of tall cabinets in a Walnut Veneer compliment the Indigo Blue Lacquer and mirrors the wide planked Solid Walnut breakfast bar. The Walnut reflects other pieces of furniture in the wider living space and brings the whole look together. The integrated Neff appliances gives a smart, uncluttered finish and the Caesarstone Raw Concrete worktops are tactile and functional and provide a lovely contrast to the Walnut. Once again we are pleased to be able to include a Quooker Flex tap in Stainless Steel. This is a fantastic living space for the whole family and we were delighted to work with them to achieve a look that works across both the kitchen and living areas.

The second project for Edit 58's Lisa Mehydene, this time in London. The requirement was one long run and no wall cupboards, giving a completely open canvas above the worktops.

High-Tech Nobilia Kitchen in Horsham, West Sussex In one of our most forward-thinking projects to date, designer George Harvey has designed a vibrant and technologic kitchen space that incorporates useful innovations for this local Horsham client. Like many who visit our showrooms, this client was blown away with new technologies that can be incorporated into a kitchen space. Eventually this client’s wish of an advanced kitchen space became a reality through clever design and a bit of help from our expert installation team. As with many of our projects this kitchen makes the most of our complete installation service, opting to fill an original doorway and create a new access off the main hall whilst widening the original hall space at the same time. The main run of units features wall units, base units and full-height units to house cooking appliances, storage and sink facilities as well as decorative shelving. A key element of this projected is tailored to the now common work from home option, with a versatile peninsula island vital to the final functioning of this space – the added option of bar seating and a large volume of storage helps to achieve this project brief. The result of this ancillary and building work is a spacious kitchen which flows nicely through to a sunny family room to the rear of the property that functions perfectly for the client. Kitchen Furniture Furniture from our German supplier Nobilia’s Touch range has been used throughout this kitchen and provides a subtle silky texture. Touch furniture uses bevelled corners for a premium feel. The fact that the range itself is available in several colour options has contributed to it being one of our most popular Nobilia kitchen ranges. For this project Touch furniture has been used in the contemporary Satin Grey finish, this neutral colour choice allows accents like the glass bright blue splashback to bring vast vibrancy to the kitchen. Across the main run and island, a huge amount of storage has been incorporated, while a reduced depth sideboard style run enhances storage and worktop space further. The furniture choice has also been based around the key them of this kitchen: technology, with the handless furniture option allowing for ultra-modern LED strip lighting to be integrated in the handle wells on the island and sideboard storage. Kitchen Appliances The appliances used for this project are what really makes such a state-of-the-art kitchen. Appliances like Neff’s Slide & Hide oven are commonplace in many of our installations. This kitchen though makes use of their high-specification N90 model. Incorporating an integrated cleaning system, baking and roast assistant and Home Connect capabilities to allow control through a device or smart speaker. To accompany, a N90 combination microwave also features in this kitchen which also harnesses Home Connect capabilities as well as integrated cleaning. This combination microwave also gives the client a flexible cooking option with the appliances doubling as another oven as required. An undermounted Neff fridge gives extra cold storage in addition to this client’s own appliances. Sitting on the main run is another ultra-modern appliance, a Bora Pure venting hob. This appliance was specified by the client to increase storage space, as due to an integrated ventilation system, no extractor hood is required. Minimalistic design and a low installation height mean this appliance is integrated seamlessly into the worktops with plenty of room for cutlery and pan drawers beneath. The Bora Pure also boasts four oversized cooking zones, that use instant induction power for efficient cooking whilst a low volume extractor removes all odour and steam. Kitchen Accessories To continue the ultra-modern theme of this kitchen, a Quooker Flex boiling tap has been included which includes a pull-out nozzle and for this project a new Cube tank has been included as well. The Quooker Cube tank incorporates refreshing sparkling and filtered chilled water in addition to cold, hot and boiling water – which come as standard with any Quooker tank. The Quooker is set above an undermounted Blanco sink which in itself continues this kitchen aesthetic with a contemporary white finish. To further the futuristic dynamic George has included fantastic lighting, with well-placed LED spotlights underneath wall units and LED strip lighting under handleless rails on the island and sideboard area. This lighting not only continues the theme of the kitchen, with spotlights highlighting the of quartz worktops and vibrant blue splashback on the main run. As part of this installation Karndean flooring has also been installed across the kitchen area, with the Rose Washed Oak finish used throughout the space from the popular Knight Tile range. Our Kitchen Design & Installation Service As with most of our installations this client has taken the opportunity to completely redesign their kitchen using our complete installation service. For this project our installation team moved and created a doorway, as well as undertaking all structural work. The final result is a kitchen that is perfectly equipped for the future thanks to a new flowing layout and innovative kitchen design and appliances.
