Our tall Canton chest has been handcrafted from solid ash and finished in a traditional black lacquer, which highlights the natural rich grain of the wood. Featuring striking distressed edges and antique brass hardware this classic design offers a lustrous and signature feature for your home. All the items in our Canton collection are made from solid ash and yellow poplar wood using traditional Chinese crafting techniques. The items are then lacquered to create a lustrous finish which is then hand distressed to create a dramatic Eastern inspired design.

Capitalising on the vertical spatial volume introduced by the upper-level timber extension, the internal open-plan mezzanine floor creates a dramatic double-height ceiling void. Styled with warm oak timber flooring and a minimalist frameless glass balustrade, the mezzanine is flooded with overhead sunlight from a high-performance rooflight, drawing natural light deep into the core of the lower ground floor. This feature exemplifies volumetric architectural planning, glass balustrade interior design, and high-level rooflight placement in double-height bungalow extensions.

The clients wanted this home to be the complete package, a place to relax with friends and family and make the most of the stunning landscape and natural playground. The summer house acts as a pavilion for entertaining and a shady place for spectators of the tennis matches. It also functions beautifully as a generous guest suite, incorporating a kitchen and bathroom. The boat shed alongside has ample storage for the boat and other outdoor toys.
