A drab, unused, awkward space became a bright, fresh, colourful and creative home office with this transformation. Somewhere to feel inspired and organised, but somewhere also to relax and read in quiet tranquillity. A neutral backdrop in the most subtle of pale pinks provided a calm canvas for hits of bright colour, feminine patterns and luxurious textures ensuring the scheme remained vibrant without being over the top. Walls painted in Benjamin Moore, Whitewater Bay.

An open tread oak staircase with the handrail and spindles forming a major part of the stair structure. This “structural handrail” curves down into a newel post and supports the outside of the treads. On the wall side the treads are fixed with chemically bonded structural pins into the wall. The oak has been though an extra brushing process to raise the grain. This reveals a little more figure in the oak, increases the textual feel of the timber and improves still further the slip resistance of the treads. The appearance of the stair spindles was created by applying the Vanadium coating cold and then heat treating it in an oven. Photo Credit: Kevala Stairs

The main entrance looking onto the dining room. We designed a custom wallpaper that would fit with the owner's love of horses and the outdoors. The new parquet floors and new lighting helped bring new life to the outdated penthouse. The colour scheme was chosen to create intimate experiences in the open plan apartment.

Custom built-in floor-to-ceiling wardrobes are again used in the second bedroom in the same style as those in the master bedroom, maximising storage space that isn't imposing. The same colour is used for the joinery, door and walls as in the master bedroom and hallway, keeping the soft organic feeling flowing through the entire home.
