Set within a charming period property in the village of Shillington, Hertfordshire, this kitchen was designed to capture the romance, colour, and character of our clients’ time spent in Italy. Their love for the country and the many memories made there became the driving inspiration for this warm, vibrant, and timeless space.
Opting for our In-Frame Shaker cabinetry, the clients embraced its classic proportions and enduring style, having it hand-painted in Farrow & Ball Cooks Blue – a vivid hue reminiscent of the Mediterranean, chosen to perfectly complement the magnificent Smeg x Dolce & Gabbana Range Cooker. The cabinetry is elevated further with Hendel & Hendel Belgravia polished nickel handles, offering a refined and timeless finishing touch.
The kitchen follows an L-shaped layout anchored by a central rectangular island, complete with an elevated solid oak breakfast bar stained in Rubio Cotton White – the ideal gathering spot for casual dining or morning coffee.
The Smeg x Dolce & Gabbana Range Cooker and matching extractor hood form the heart of the design, turning cooking into a work of art. This limited-edition collaboration celebrates all things Made in Italy, featuring the Divina Cucina collection’s bold colours and intricate patterns inspired by Sicilian majolica ceramicware. The Chimney Hood proudly wears the vibrant Dolce & Gabbana print, making it a true statement piece and a fitting tribute to our client’s love for Italian culture and cuisine.
Alongside the statement range, the kitchen is equipped with Premium NEFF integrated appliances, including a fridge freezer and dishwasher, as well as a Caple Wine Cooler and Caple Microwave, all positioned for convenience.
The sink run features a Shaws Shaker double bowl paired with a Perrin & Rowe Phoenician widespread mixer with rinse in pewter, and a Quooker Nordic Round in stainless steel for instant boiling water. And not forgetting the bespoke over-window mantle that seamlessly connects the cabinetry, with integrated LED lighting adding both practical illusions and a refined design detail.
All surfaces are finished in Dekton Malibu, a porcelain worktop that brings a fresh, modern look, both stylish and durable, to this Italian-inspired hub.
Additional touches include a coffee station with reeded glass-fronted doors and jars filled with rich Italian coffee, and the tall, slim pantry cupboard is discreet yet provides generous storage. There are also deep drawers with custom inserts, a corner Le Mans, and a pull-out unit for cooking oils and spices.
This kitchen tells a beautiful story of the Mediterranean, bringing a slice of this into a quintessentially English home.

Higham FurnitureThis kitchen combines classic shaker cabinetry with a warm, natural palette and thoughtful detailing. The main run is painted in Little Greene Mushroom (142), a soft neutral that keeps the space feeling light and calm, while the island adds contrast in Little Greene Nether Red (315) - a rich, earthy tone that grounds the room without overpowering it.
The worktops, splashback and waterfall island ends are finished in Bianco Verde marble, bringing subtle pattern and natural texture throughout. Brass fittings, including Hendel & Hendel hardware and a Quooker Fusion tap, add a gentle touch of warmth.

the kitchen was built to the roof and the detailed coving copied to create this 'built in' appearance. The height of the kitchen accentuates and compliments the tall ceilings.
Handmade Kitchen CoSophisticated and elegant, this bootility is designed to keep the space organised and stylish to match the rest of the home. Keeping the laundry chores out of view, this space has been delicately hand-painted in School House White by F&B just like the kitchen and built in our classic in-frame shaker style. There’s an abundance of space to store every cleaning product you can think of!
Further functions of the room include Bosch appliances at eye level, pull-out laundry basket drawers below, Misterio quartz worktops, a Shaws of Darwen sink and a Perrin & Rowe Ionian Tap with rinse and white porcelain levers.
Something we particularly love about this design is the handcrafted bench storage. The closed cabinets keep items neatly out of sight behind our beautifully crafted doors, while the open shelves display the items you want close to hand. Our client has chosen to display their fresh linens here.

Homebird StudioThis project was all about taking a tired, cluttered bathroom and turning it into a calm, design-led sanctuary. The original space was heavy on storage but lacked character, with dated cabinetry, fussy curtains, and no real sense of style or flow.
The new design strips everything back to a clean, modern canvas. We introduced soft neutral tiles in a handmade finish for texture, paired with a striking herringbone marble floor to elevate the look. A bespoke vanity with fluted detailing creates subtle movement, while the arched mirror framed by elegant wall lights adds depth and sophistication.
Brass fixtures were chosen throughout to bring warmth and a touch of luxury, from the concealed flush plate to the wall-mounted taps. The layered lighting (including the ceiling pendant) ensures this bathroom feels inviting both day and night.
To keep the design practical for everyday family life, we added bespoke built-in storage in the nook behind the door — the perfect hidden spot for all the family bathroom essentials (because beautiful doesn’t mean you can’t also be organised!).
The result? A contemporary, timeless bathroom that feels effortlessly stylish yet practical — the kind of space you’d actually look forward to starting your day in.

Simon Taylor FurnitureSimon Taylor Furniture was commissioned to design and make an elegant in-frame Shaker kitchen for a couple in a detached Georgian house in a semi-rural setting at the end of a village in Aylesbury Vale, Buckinghamshire. The clients wanted the kitchen to have modern features and contemporary appliances but for the look to be in harmony with the rest of their property.
The 30m² ground floor space had always been the kitchen and it has lots of natural light shining in from two aspects. Ornate architraves surround each of the leaded windows that feature recently restored original wooden shutters on either side of the deep set window sills, making an outstanding feature of the room. The bespoke kitchen furniture was designed, made and handpainted in Farrow & Ball Mole’s Breath for the island and Purbeck Stone for the cabinetry to perfectly complement these heritage features, which were also painted in Purbeck Stone.
At the start of the project, the clients specified that they wanted a breakfast area with integrated Shaker style tongue and groove bench seating within the kitchen itself. They have a separate formal dining room, so this was to be designed for more informal occasions. They also wanted lots of storage including a pantry cupboard, a bi-fold breakfast cupboard, pull out drawers for pots and pans and open shelving for cookery books. They wanted to have a kitchen island included for food preparation, but not for cooking and all of these requirements were incorporated within the design. As keen cooks, they also requested top of the range kitchen appliances and Miele Generation 7000 appliances were specified including an 80cm induction hob, 60cm Oven, 45cm Combination Steam Oven and 29cm warming drawer plus a 60cm fully integrated dishwasher. The French door fridge freezer is by Fisher and Paykel and a concealed canopy hood is by Siemens.
The worksurface is 30mm Andromeda White Granite throughout; a classic pale granite from Sri Lanka with sharks nose edging that the clients had seen in the Simon Taylor Furniture showroom. A large double bowl sink is from the Zen 15 range from 1810 Company and the Mix lever tap is by Perrin and Rowe, with a further Boiling Water tap by Quooker.

A Blind Pash InteriorsThis serene and light-filled living space received a full decorative update by ABP Interiors. The existing furniture was carefully reupholstered in fresh, patterned fabrics to breathe new life into beloved pieces. Walls and built-in joinery were repainted in a soft neutral palette, creating a calm and cohesive backdrop. The new wool carpet adds comfort and warmth underfoot, while custom curtains and a shaped pelmet in a delicate floral fabric complete the look. Every detail, from lamps to accent cushions, was thoughtfully layered for a soft, inviting finish.
schemes & spacesThis narrow but long bathroom offered us the option of creating a 'wet area' where the bath and shower share one enclosure behind a fixed glass panel.
