Charles was central in transforming our old Victorian terrace in north London from a dark, segregated house to a sunlit, open plan beautiful family home. He visualised the use of floor to ceiling glass windows, and skylights above the staircase and dining area in the kitchen. He helped plan the new house layout, new walls and design. We had ideas of what we wanted for our regeneration but Charles took it one step further with bolder and inspirational visions. I hired COULLarchitecture to design a side return extension for my house which is a Victorian terrace in a conservation area. I am pleased with the outcome as we got planning permission. Charles was the only architect I interviewed who took the time to find out how we used the space in our home before going on to discuss the design. I asked Charles to make various revisions to the design along the way as I changed my mind about what I wanted and he was always happy to do this. He is a very hard working architect, very pleasant to deal with and very experienced. He is a good communicator and always answers his phone when you call him or calls you back the same day if he is busy. He is very client led; he never exerted pressure on me to do anything I was not keen on but was forthcoming with ideas when asked. He did a great design at a reasonable price and in a reasonable time frame. I would highly recommend him.

It was a great experience working with Charles. I didn't want to build a standard loft conversion so he was able to make plenty of suggestions to deliver something unique. Good communication and open to additional calls and meetings which really helped nail down the finer details. Reliable and reasonably priced for a great service, recommended.

Charles Coull picked up our project from the doldrums and with (controlled and understated) dynamism and panache, recreated our roofline and took us through protracted planning and a tricky build. He worked tirelessly for us over a five year period. Always available to talk through details. Always thinking of solutions to those critical interfaces and junctions.
