We have employed Rooted on a number of jobs now, for groundworks, roof repairs, drainage installations and all manner of construction work, and have found them a pleasure to work with - dedicated, thoroughly professional and enthusiastic. Iain and the Rooted team did some work to sort out damp issues in our extension that was built in the 1990s (our house dates back to the 1800s). Iain reviewed the issues identified through a damp survey and propose suitable, cost effective solutions. The team were swift, tidy, and very professional. We would not hesitate to use them again and have recommended them to friends.

Iain came as a recommendation from a friend and having inspected other work he was undertaking in the locality we decided he was the man for our job. With the design and specification process already completed we used him and his team to do a back to bare walls refurbishment of a 1960’s detached house in Bath. The project included three single storey extensions, replacement windows and roofs, generally upgrading to current standards, a full refit and redecoration, outside terracing and landscaping. Due to the sale of our previous home and wanting to have the works done whilst the property was empty, Iain had to work to an extremely tight timetable. He achieved this with an enormous amount of effort and great teamwork from his trusty team and regular sub-contractors. Throughout the process Iain remained calm and unflustered. Problems were overcome and changes were incorporated. The attitude was always we can do this rather than looking for reasons why things couldn’t be done. During the process we had a number of our own specialist sub-contractors and Iain developed a great working relationship with all of them, something which certainly isn’t always the case on building sites. Post completion the inevitable bits of snagging have cropped up and Iain has always been on hand to sort them quickly and efficiently. Given our extremely compressed schedule things could have gone disastrously but with Iain and Rooted Design & Build we picked the right contractor - it really couldn’t have gone much better!

Have used these guys for a couple of projects over the years, and have been very impressed. Great communication, great customer service and have a very good eye for detail. We’ve just had plans approved for a new extension to our house and will definitely be trusting them again on this project.

A double height front extension to our 1950’s home here in Bath. Providing us with a larger brighter entrance hall, down stairs clock room , large walk in cupboard and storage bench seating. Upstairs an en-suite and dressing room. Remodelling of 2 further bedrooms and additional plastering and carpentry. Very professional builders from concept to completion. I used Iain as a result of favourable recommendation from two neighbours who had previously used his company for building projects. I was wanting to build a sun room on the end of my house to replace a PVC conservatory that would give me increased accommodation and better views. It was a difficult project with limited access and the site was 100 metres from the road for deliveries. Iain and his team overcame all these difficulties without complaining and the project was delivered on time and on budget.
