I'm Mary Maldé, founder of Mary Maldé Interior Design, a residential interior design studio based in North London on the Hertfordshire border, working across London, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. I create deeply personal, considered homes for design-aware homeowners looking for help with renovations, multi-room transformations, individual rooms and complete home interiors. My approach begins with understanding the relationship between people and place. Through my Earth States® philosophy and methodology, I explore how you naturally respond to colour and the wider qualities of a space — because we don't all experience places in the same way. A room can be beautifully designed and still not feel right to the person who lives there. The response often comes before the understanding. Earth States® identifies patterns in how you naturally respond to particular qualities of colour and space. From there, I bring those insights together with the architecture and character of your home, the way you live, and the pieces, experiences and memories that matter to you.
