Neville Johnson Ltd

This is my experience - Despite paying a premium, Neville Johnson displays a level of arrogance that made me feel like as a customer, I was an annoying inconvenience. With the exception of the installer, at every touch point they made us regret we ever chose them. They did not communicate with us when they said they would, they did not deliver when they said they would, they did not even communicate requirements between themselves like suitable and unsuitable installation dates. They ignored us when they were in the wrong so they avoid the conversation rather than being open, honest and apologetic. They sent us a final invoice reminder before a job was even finished. Our requirement was additional furniture extending something installed by a former owner through them so we had no choice. When you have this kind of money to spend choose wisely and a company that treats you with honesty, respect and professionalism.

Apalling. The design process was good. However, installation has been horrendous. The 2 day job, became a 3 day job then I was told the measurements of the unit were wrong And would have to be adjusted. After chasing several times I’m now given an installation date a month later. This completely messes up all my other building work for what was a minor adjustment. All my clothes are piled up on the floor or in boxes literally gathering dust. I’m currently recovering from major surgery so this is a nightmare for me. A situation which I had explained and was assured they would make the process simple for me. A six week delay, a £20k price tag. An absolute joke. Do not waste your money.

My glass staircase just blown up this morning at 6 am ; with lots of glass bits and damaged my proper wooden floor .

Over priced and poor quality. Does not match up to their statement of ‘luxury’. Oak posts arrived damaged and unvarnished and I was left with damaged skirting boards and a number of unnecessary gaps and holes. I then had to take time off work for the two days remedial work. The time allocated for the job was grossly underestimated. I would NOT recommend this company.

I really, really wanted to write a review giving Neville Johnson 5 stars, but if I am honest, I can only give them 4 star My wife and I decided in January this year to treat ourselves to a fitted study –a wall to wall bookcase with an adjoining desk. We had seen the impressive Neville Johnson commercials and read the reviews. We knew they were expensive, but we were prepared to pay the extra for the quality. Right from the start I was impressed by Neville Johnson. They sent out a designer called Mike, he was very professional. Mike listened to our ideas and worked with us in producing a design we were happy with. We met Mike a couple of times, our ideas on the design and finish changed several times. Nothing seemed too much trouble for Mike and he patiently worked with us until we got it right. Next came the detail drawings of the design. Again we were very impressed and it reassured us that we were dealing with a professional company with high standards. We had a visit from a surveyor, who answered all our questions. Again a very impressive service. I was at work while the fitters fitted the furniture and my wife dealt with them. When I returned home, the fitters had already completed the work and gone. We had ordered blue fitted study furniture. I noticed straight away that on the base of the fitted desk the factory painted laminated wood had been chipped off revealing the chip board underneath. The size of the laminated wood that had chipped off was 6 inches by 2 inches. So quite large. I complained to NJ, and they responded quickly. The installation manager visited the following day. The sign of a good company is not that it gets it right all the time, but how it responds when things have gone wrong. NJ booked a fitter the following week to correct the fitting. I am very please with the furniture, it is truly beautiful. Four stars because it would of been better if it was right the first time. However, thank you NJ for taking my complaint seriously and the prompt response to put things right

My wife and I were extremely pleased that we used Neville Johnson for our recent staircase work. We found everyone we dealt with at NJ were knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. The support was excellent and the fitter was brilliant. We were very pleased with the work he did and he answered all the queries we had. The finished staircase is exactly what we wanted and we are really happy with it. We would highly recommend NJ. Mr and Mrs A Warrington, Cheshire

From the initial telephone call through to the design and installation, we found Neville Johnson helpful, reliable and professional. We already had a pretty clear idea about what we wanted for our home office and library. The Neville Johnson consultant came up with some really innovative ideas that improved on our initial design. After working with him for about 45 minutes, we arrived at an agreed blueprint and signed off the work for implementation. The fitting happened on schedule and the fitters really were first rate. They were friendly and incredibly skilled. We are absolutely delighted with the finished result and would have no hesitation in heartily recommending Neville Johnson to friends, family and anyone who wants quality furniture designed specifically for their own home.

I found all staff to be very professional and the standard of workmanship exceptional, the completed glass and oak staircase exceeded expectation and I would not hesitate to recommend Neville Johnson

Very disappointed with the service from Neville Johnson. Although friendly, I had no confidence that my furniture would be completed properly and as I envisioned. There were far too many people involved, who took no responsibility for the project. There was endless confusion on final costings, colours, layouts, install dates, almost every aspect. I wrote an email to the Manager to outline my concerns and never received a response. I'm still disappointed with my furniture, after waiting 6 months for it to be completed and spending an absolute fortune. I will never use Neville Johnson again and don't recommend them.

Glass & Light Oak Staircase I am absolutely delighted with my stunning glass & oak staircase. The standard of workmanship is second to none. One of the existing newel posts proved very difficult to remove as it was embedded into an under stairs cupboard but, despite this, the renovation was still completed in two days & with minimal redecoration required. I had high expectations of Neville Johnson Ltd. & they were rewarded!
