Richmond Oak

We wanted to find a specialist company that could build a new Orangery for us. We looked online and came across Richmond Oak's website, which contained some lovely looking Orangeries. We requested a brochure and were impressed with what we saw. The contact and communication with owner Paul Fitzgerald was excellent and the designer, Kevin, who came to see us to discuss design and price was superb. Before signing on the dotted line and committing to the biggest project we have ever undertaken, we asked if we could visit the homes of a couple of existing customers, for whom they had built Orangeries. We were very impressed with what we saw and very reassured by what the existing customers said about Richmond Oak and their projects. Without exception, everyone who worked on the project - builder John Adkins and his team, Dave the project manager, Marcus and Pete, the installers, Paul's son Marcus providing further overseeing of the project - were brilliant. A project of this size was never going to be without the odd hiccup along the way. We did encounter a few but the key thing here is that they were dealt with very well indeed. My client commissioned Richmond Oak Conservatories and negotiated terms with them, herself. The Client is delighted by her beautiful conservatory space that brings her pleasure each and every day as the most significant part of the alterations/improvements made to her house last year. It is a spacious, warm light and uplifting space. Richmond Oak dealt with every aspect of their part in the job professionally, and in every way except for some small delays in programme timing, all went smoothly. The Client was impressed that once the price was settled, there were NO extras from this company, which she found very satisfying. These Conservatories are not cheap, but the quality of materials and design, taking careful attention to all details involved, the overall installation demonstrates real value for that money. Coordinating their work with other building works in our case was complex, so I would add just one proviso to clarify specific construction type and detail from RO, at the interface with your project to dovetail all details and trades without a glitch. These Conservatories are beautiful, easy to enjoy and they fell like they will last a very long time. Certainly, my Client could not be happier with the result, enhancing her home life.

We are delighted with our conservatory. We wanted a design which would complement our old stone house. So we were looking for traditional materials such as wood and stone. That led us to Richmond Oak, through an internet search. And we also had a design challenge to overcome, in that the conservatory had to be erected about 2 meters above ground level, as the land falls away. Richmond Oak's salesperson came up with a brilliant design which overcame our concerns. The oak and glass materials are superb. The work was very professionally done, by meticulous and very friendly craftsmen. I would recommend Richmond Oak without hesitation. Thank you Paul and team.

I can't tell you how pleased we are with the final product. What an improvement...it looks amazing. Pete and Marcus are complete professionals, nothing was too much trouble, and they obviously take such a pride in their work.

Installation of 3 x window units and 1 x composite front door with full height side glazed units. Regarding design/configuration: We ended up with different configurations of window units than we had originally requested, based on Richmond Oak's recommendation. This has proved to be very beneficial, from a practical day-to-day usage perspective. Great knowledgeable design guidance. Project went to schedule and we were charged what we were quoted. Payment terms clearly laid out in the quote. Installation team were professional and courteous. They worked through a spell of very bad weather. Very happy with the finished result. Would recommend.

We were replacing an old south-facing conservatory that was too hot in summer and too cold in winter and therefore rarely used. Our contact with Paul at Richmond Oak was always friendly and he was always there to personally visit, phone or email. After considering several companies we went with Richmond Oak, mainly due to the use of oak that would look great and the good communication. The final product is an orangery that is used daily by the family all year round without feeling too hot or cold. We also get to enjoy the beauty of the oak. We have since used Richmond Oak for other jobs in our home. A great company to deal with.

We wanted to build an Orangery onto our Grade 2 listed building, our initial thoughts were to use painted hard work, However after contacting several companies, we found that Richmond Oak came out at a very competitive price to a well known competitor in hard wood. Oak would compliment the lovely Hamstone our home is built with so this sparked our interest. Colin the representative from Richmond Oak was very knowledgeable and of his product and how the project should be designed and built, there was no hard sell, he took time to listen to what we wanted and worked with us . He also was sympathetic to the conservation officers criteria the resulting build was all that we dreamed of. As things got going we liaised mainly with Paul, the head man at Richmond Oak, its fair to say he was available at almost any hour, nice to know whatever the worry he would be there to try and solve our hitches and allay our worries no matter how small or silly, this took a lot of stress out of what could have been a very worrying time. From the deliverery of the Oak to the final fitting of the lantern roof Richmond Oaks attention to detail was phenomenal.Dave there workman worked the most amazing hours and was considerate and helpful to the other builders on site. We had seventeen windows, two patio doors, two doors and an Orangery from this company, Paul took time to make sure all the latches , handles, hinges etc sat well with the rest of our home, not selling us what he wanted to make the most profit on or had left over, but took great care and attention sourcing what the customer wanted. Its true to say we invested a huge amount in Richmond Oak but the product speaks for itself, should we ever need to do such a project again, this company would be our first port of call, we would expect a discount for being a returning customer !
