We were lucky to be able to retire to a lovely Victorian house by the sea. It was in need of modernization and after viewing the extensive portfolio of Studio Kap we commissioned them to help. Throughout the project Helen and Chris have been great advisors. Always willing to listen to our wishes and adding their expertise to create our dream house. Nothing is too much trouble and they have always kept us informed of progress. We would highly recommend them to anyone else wanting to realise their dream.

Having no knowledge of architects in the south side area of Glasgow I took a chance and contacted Studio KAP Architects from a web search. Before I agreed to working with the firm, I had a very helpful telephone call explaining timescales, costs and expectation of service. The project was handled professionally and I always knew I could call/email and get a reply almost immediately. Site visits were held at a suitable time for us (early morning) and were conducted professionally and courteously. We are delighted with our extension and additional works which were added to the initial brief part way through the process. They worked very well with the builder employed, who were recommended by KAP but also were the cheapest of the 5 quotes received. We are happy to have chosen KAP Studio.

I think it's Helen's background as a sculptor which makes the difference. Helen can create lines that work with windows or doors and they fit into their surroundings. Doing building refurbishments can be tricky, to make sure any new windows or doors fit in to the existing building, and without thought they can just look odd. But with Helen's awareness of line, the detail is very much a whole building. I've worked with Studio KAP on several projects in ranging from a Victorian villa to cottages from the early 18th century, and have been very pleased with the design.

We were introduced to Chris and team via a friend who had already used Studio KAP for a home extension and who were very happy with the result. Our project comprised of a contemporary addition to a 250 yr old cottage. We found Chris was professional through out and we soon developed a good rapport. We felt that he listened to our ideas and the process of developing a shared vision felt positive. We admired his ability to design something very contemporary , that combined and flowed well with our old cottage and fitted comfortably in to the surrounding landscape. The build took 9 months with Studio KAP acting as project managers. 10 years on we are still very pleased with the design and materials that were chosen. In 2017 when we decided to add a front entrance porch on to the house, we were keen to have Chris as the architect , to keep a consistency to the overall feel of the house. He drew up another exciting design. On this occasion Gordy, my husband, decided to take on the build and project management. This was a steep learning curve given the complicated design, but again we were very satisfied with the design and outcome.

At the end of 2009 we decided to downsize and build a retirement house in our garden. We wished to build as ecological a house as we could afford and contacted two architects for their advice. Both came up with excellent suggestions, but we felt that StudioKAP really understood where we were coming from. This started a wonderful relationship where we, as the clients worked together with the architects and the construction company to create the beautiful home that we moved into in 2011. We greatly valued the time that the architects spent with us at the beginning finding out what our needs and desires were, and the fact that they involved us, and listened to us, at every stage in decision making. So the house evolved into a beautiful, peaceful space which functions incredibly well as a home. We have now lived here for almost 9 years and would change almost nothing. Comments from family, friends and even strangers have all been very positive and we recommend StudioKAP wholeheartedly.

I hired Chris Platt of Studio Kap to design a retail unit for me.I wanted a bright modern interior with a Scandinavian fresh feel.Chris delivered expertly and with amazing eye for detail and excellent creative ideas.He also handled effortlessly the mundane aspects of the architectural work and the process was made very easy and rewarding for me.At completion I was left with a finished shop which exceeded my wishes and I will always be grateful for an excellent job.
