House renovation review: Builders: Beswick Builders Ltd We couldn’t recommend Beswick Builders Ltd more highly. From start to finish, Matt, Steve, and the entire team were absolutely brilliant- not only incredibly skilled but genuinely lovely people to have around. From the very beginning, Matt and Steve worked closely with us to plan timelines around our house purchase. We were taking on a full renovation -new plumbing, a complete rewire, a redesigned downstairs layout with steel beams, full plastering throughout, plus a new kitchen and bathrooms and adding on a porch extension. Despite the scale of the project, Matt and Steve managed to align our job with his existing workload and got started just two weeks after we received the keys, which was amazing. As a family with three children, we moved into rented accommodation for four months and had a firm goal of being back in by October half term. Team Beswick made this happen. They kept everything on track and really pushed towards the deadline to make it achievable for us, which made a huge difference to our family. The core Beswick team handled most of the work themselves and were consistently professional, respectful and friendly on site. Even our new neighbours commented on how polite and considerate they were, which made settling in so much easier for us. For specialist areas like electrics and plumbing, they brought in trusted contractors who were equally fantastic - every aspect of the work was completed to an exceptionally high standard. The budget stayed on track throughout, and whenever any potential changes arose, Matt and Steve always took the time to talk things through with us, explain our options and help us make the best decisions. People often ask how we managed a full house renovation with three children and still came out the other side happily married and our answer is always the same: it’s because we had such an amazing building team. We’ve now been in our home for a while, and it’s been an absolute joy to live in. The quality of the work is outstanding and we haven’t had a single issue. Our only downside? We genuinely miss seeing the Beswick team every day!

Beswick completed a kitchen extension and utility room. Their work was very high quality and the project did not overrun the projected timescale. The project manager support provided me with clear oversight of what was being done each day and who would be on site and was a very good source of advice . The builder and all other trades Beswick used were very professional , tidy and high quality. The builder was very considerate of any issues I had and ensured my neighbours were kept informed of anything that affected them [noise , dusty work ] , he was also very tidy and ensured the waste material was stored safely . All invoices were clear and that meant I could plan my budgets , the forecasted cost was not exceeded . I asked them to do some extra work [remedial work to a chimney, refurbish a cloakroom] that was costed and completed very efficiently. I would definitely recommend them and use them for future projects

Fantastic quality and pride in what they do and they create trust between them and you by ensuring that you get full value. Used them several times now and wouldn’t use anyone else.

Matt Beswick and team did a high quality job on refits of a bathroom and cloakroom. We’re very happy with the results. Plenty of communication as we went through the project and every member of the team was courteous and friendly.

Beswicks completed a near full renovation of my house, including moving the kitchen from the front to the back of the house. Including in the work was plumbing, electrical, plastering (including getting rid of awful artex ceilings throughout the house) and kitchen fitting. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. I have had no issues or faults with their work across the 6 weeks of the project. I was kept updated at every stage and they even shared ideas on some money saving steps in the project. The builders were polite, tidy and respectful of my property and my neighbours - I have had compliments from my neighbours as to how good they were. All the work has been completed to the highest standard and I am delighted and fully satisfied with all the work done. I cannot recommend this company enough!

We recently had the pleasure of working with Beswick Builders on a two-storey side extension for our family home, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome. From the very beginning, Matt, Steve and the team were professional and approachable; we felt they understood us and our project and listened to our ideas and concerns. Throughout the build, Matt’s communication with us was excellent; we always knew what was happening, what to expect next, and felt reassured that there was never a wasted day. As a team, they were incredibly patient with us as a family living on site. And our neighbours have all commented on how respectful and tidy they were. The workmanship throughout the build was careful and meticulous; Beswick have connections with some great trade professionals (Brett and Callum, Martin, Will…) and all involved brought a high level of skill to the job. Even when the project uncovered unexpected surprises, Matt and Steve were creative in finding solutions that worked with us and our budget, and it was clear that quality was never compromised. We are absolutely delighted with the final result. The extension blends seamlessly with the original structure and has totally transformed our home, both in function and appearance. We have no hesitation in recommending Beswick Builders to anyone considering a home project.

As interior designers we have worked with a fair few builders and construction teams. On this particular job we worked along side Matt and his fabulous team to complete a 6 month project to renovate the whole first floor of a Georgian residence. His great personality and honest approach to the job in hand was refreshing. The costs breakdowns were spot on and he would always give his opinion on how we could improve or over come issues that appear in these old houses. The communication that we received whilst on the job was timely and clear. He managed to achieve and turn around the designs we had worked so hard on and bought them to life in he most effective way. The rest of the team were courteous and respectful given a family of four were still residing at the property. The standard of work and finishing was top notch and we have already recommended Matt and his team to further jobs

Beswick recently completed our renovation of removing our old conservatory from the back of our mid terrace house in St Albans and creating a new beautiful habitable room which we can now enjoy Winter or Summer. I loved working with Steve, Matt and the team as they took all the stress out of the process for me, they were patient when we were struggling to make decisions about certain aspects of the build and they offered advice to solutions when needed. Their professionalism and attention to detail were evident in every aspect of the project. They were incredibly considerate of our neighbours making sure everything ran smoothly with as little disruption to others as possible. Beswick Building and Renovations Ltd were a great company to work with to complete a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom renovation as well as to create a new internal Utility room and downstairs toilet. We were impressed by their professionalism, the skill of their craftsmen and their attention to detail. They worked solidly every day that they could and we were not left with no work for days on end. Their employees and sub-contractors are simply outstanding in all departments. The overall standard of the job was extremely high and justified the cost. Matt and Steve were a pleasure to work with and Matt produces very detailed estimates and costings. They were also able to add significant "extras" seamlessly into the project. Like any project such as this it is important to liaise closely about the detail of items on the estimate and query as appropriate. We found that Matt was able to discuss any discrepancies openly and this is not always the case with others in this profession. We would have no hesitation recommending Beswicks to anyone having similar work done. They are extremely good.
