It was an absolute pleasure making my design journey together with Joy. I realise that I was not her easiest client and a challenge to work with, yet despite this, she rose to this challenge with grace and always with a smile. Her design ideas were well thought out and researched, and we went on many shopping trips together to choose furniture and soft furnishings. I thoroughly our expeditions and looked forward to them. Over time, I feel she has become a friend. I was able to sit back while Joy took the strain out of everything, and the end result is a beautiful property, admired by all my friends. Joy is a fantastic designer and a pleasure to work with. Our brief to her was very broad (i.e. we're the nightmare client who doesn't really know what they want) and Joy worked diligently to eek out our preferences by providing a range of options for each key decision. During this process she was always happy to provide just the right amount of guidance and advice when needed... the final results bear testament to her excellent eye and top-quality execution. Joy helped us with the complete renovation of our home. We hadn’t planned on using a designer but from the moment she became involved we didn’t look back. She listened to our brief and interpreted it with flair and imagination. She was professional throughout, sensitive to budget and great fun to work with. She has a great eye and uses colour and texture to make a space interesting and inviting but also cohesive. As a result of her background in interior architecture she also a huge source of information and ideas. Joy has created for us a sophisticated but also warm and welcoming home with which we are beyond thrilled. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

I engaged Joy to help in the interior redesign of my home. From the start she brought an enormous amount of creativity, knowledge and style to the project but was also extremely collaborative in her approach and clearly spends time really understanding her client’s practical needs and design preferences. Joy is thoughtful, responsive and thoroughly professional to work with. In my case the result was a process which was extremely rewarding and informative along the way. Joy’s involvement was in all areas of the project from planning the design schemes in various parts of the property, to identifying, recommending and sourcing flooring, furniture, lighting and soft furnishings. It was obvious that Joy was extremely enthusiastic and dedicated to making sure the right decisions were reached and she then set about bringing the finished product to fruition with equal commitment. I would certainly recommend Joy to anyone embarking on a project, whether they have very few fixed ideas and are looking for inspiration, or equally if they already have clear ideas and want help with refinement and detail.

I have used Joy Flanagan Design twice now and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a talented and creative designer who is a pleasure to deal with. She did a fantastic job on both occasions; one completely furnishing a new build 2-bed contemporary apartment, the other reconfiguring the top floor of a 5-floor Georgian house reducing the number of bedrooms from 3 to 2 . Joy guided me on layout, products, design and colour. She offered solutions to maximise space and light and ensured that the installation process was seamless. In addition to taking the time to understand the initial brief, she provided lots of ideas and solutions, combining both her practical knowledge with style and all within my budget. She designed our built-in wardrobes with extra features that I would never have thought about, lighting and furnishings. Her vision enabled us to maximise the space and we are delighted with the results. I can thoroughly recommend her as an experienced designer who effortlessly envisages your ideas and implements them.
