Building Conservation Services

We needed to replace the 1930s bathroom in our 400+ year old thatched grade 2 listed property and wanted to have a larger space to include a new utility room below. The original was built as a flat roofed extension to the property and was cold and cramped. Sam came up with a lovely sympathetic design that compliments the house perfectly and has given us a lovely new facility we wished we had done 20 years earlier! I can now stand upright on both levels, which is a bonus.

Sam Percival of Building Conservation Services was engaged to advise and oversee the design and construction of a new build farmhouse bungalow. He proved very professional, reliable, full of innovative ideas. The bungalow has three bedrooms, lounge, study, wetroom ,separate shower room with toilet. We reguired a building with much natural light and glass . This manifested itself in a major feature with an the open plan , kitchen diner enjoying spectacular views. We incorporated ground source with under floor heating, solar panels and is now rated 97% efficient. Externally we have a Kargester automatic sewerage system. Our personal design features were met and overall the whole project was successfully handled.

We needed an extension annexe for my daughter & husband to blend in with the original late 18th century farm building. An added problem was the steep slope of the ground and limited space. Sam came up with a superb design that so perfectly matched the old building that the new extension looks like it was part of the original building, while the interior is bright and modern.
