About Us

Up was conceived by Jo Gibbs who was for many years a textile designer to the fashion industry. Concerned about the damage to the environment caused by the production of new fabrics, she began to look for more sustainable ways to produce new and exciting items. This includes furniture and lighting as well as various different patterns on an array of surfaces She will take on commissions,and work to your specifications within the confines of available materials to upcycle

I had admired the work of Jo Gibbs for some time, so I was delighted when she agreed to accept a commission for a special birthday gift for my friend. I sent her a video of my friend's home. She liaised closely with me about the presentation of the piece, and my friend's preferences. She created a beautiful slate Triptych with a delicate, unique, design. My friend is absolutely delighted and it has pride of place in her home.

Jo Gibbs' work is amazing, detailed, creative and beautiful. She has transformed my kitchen with her fabulous slates and I have a beautiful mirror from her in my lounge which looks like a window into another world. Not only that but she is a lovely person, great to work with. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Jo produced a very beautiful coffee table, to her own design but exactly along the lines I had in mind. A very original piece, I enjoy using it daily. Jo was very easy to liaise with, and consulted at all appropriate times.

Jo designed and produced this sweet coffee table for me to go with my kitchen worktops, cupboard doors and table (see my other review of them too). Who would think that a pretty ordinary table she found in the street could be transformed into something so gorgeous. Fast, excellent, attentive customer service again, just like in 2014. Apologies for the unflattering pics of your creation Jo, it deserves better!
