Kenton Jones

In October 2023 we placed an order with Kenton Jones to refurbish and refresh our kitchen that they had manufactured and installed 17 years earlier. The work comprised new doors and drawer fronts, new plinths, new end panels, new glass splash backs and a new and enlarged island unit with breakfast bar. It was expected that the work could be completed for Christmas, just over 2 months away. In the event completion was after Easter 4 months later and the real problem was that no one tried to keep us informed of what was going on. There was a 5 week gap without news after the main kitchen works had been completed awaiting glass splash backs. In the event they did not fit correctly and had to go back. We had no contact at all for the next 8 weeks and by now Easter had passed. Having lost all patience a call to HQ elicited that knowledge of our little project was at best lacking. It was thought that the splash backs were ready when in fact they were not. Instead they had sat somewhere untouched since February. A week later we got the news that alterations had been completed and the splash backs ready to fit again. They were finished on 12 April. There were a number of excuses about glass suppliers and delivery times being extended but the real issue was that no one thought to tell us what was happening and in our view our job was simply forgotten for almost two months, lost sight of behind seemingly more important deadline work which we understand had required all hands to the pump. Also if it only took one week to get the splash backs altered after we made contact why had this not happened earlier? The kitchen upgrade components had been installed in early December and the fitter, the same person who had fitted the original kitchen, was a pleasure to have in the house. The standard of work and the quality of the components excellent. However the splash back fitting was less successful. It was all done very quickly and, unlike the previous fitter, there was no reference to us to check all was OK as work progressed. I did not like a detail adjacent to the widow cill where a band of filler was required where none should have been necessary. I expressed concern but did not wish to add any delay and so have reluctantly accepted. Also the fitter commented on how clean the glass was and that there was no need to wipe it down. On his departure I spent quite some time cleaning the glass to remove multiple finger prints and greasy marks to get it to my standard. On doing this I was disappointed to find long sections where excess silicone sealant had been squeegeed onto the glass face and the granite worktops. The next morning I spent a happy couple of hours carefully removing the excess with a razor blade. On completion we were given the final invoice and a 1% discount on the total price had been made. At least there appeared to be some small recognition that this was not the customer experience that should have been provided.

From the initial visit from Richard the designer, to final checking of the installation from Lynn, the whole experience of buying a new kitchen was made a pleasure. Ian and Paul the installers were the definition of professional, cheerfully adapting to the quirks of our barn conversion with tact and expertise. The subcontractors brought in to install the work surface were also incredibly efficient, delivering exactly on the required day, and making a great job of it too. No hestiation I would recommend a Kenton Jones kitchen to anyone (and have already done so!)

From beginning to end, our experience of Kenton Jones is that the customer is at the heart of everything they do. We needed complete project management and that is exactly what they delivered, with appropriate consultation when necessary and imaginative solutions to unexpected problems encountered along the way. The attention to detail from every single member of staff has been exemplary and to say we are thrilled with the result is an understatement!

We went to Kenton Jones for a new kitchen for a number of reasons ...... firstly it is a well established local family run firm, and secondly their service from start to finish is excellent, imaginative and thoughtful. They listened to our needs and gave us several designs to choose from ...... very relaxed and not at all pushy as so many big kitchen firms like to do their business. The fitter, Conor, was so careful and precise. The only problem we had was with the external glass splash back company but again this was dealt with by Kenton Jones and resolved very quickly. So, we have a wonderful new kitchen, there was a small problem with one of the self closing drawers but again sorted and fixed in a day!! All in all I can't think why anyone would want to go elsewhere !! fantastic service from start to finish.

Kenton Jones offered a great and reliable service from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble. Choosing the actual kitchen was a pleasant experience and Greg in the showroom was most helpful. Our fitter was so precise and careful and attention to detail was definitely top of his list. Everyone has commented on how brilliant the kitchen is and its a pleasure to cook and spend time in my kitchen now. We have no regrets in allowing Kenton Jones to design and fit our kitchen and are over the moon with the final result. Thank you so much. We would not hesitate to recommend you.

We are very pleased with the design, workmanship and quality of our new kitchen. Kenton Jones were able to coordinate the timing of the fit with the builders of our new house and the resulting finish has won praise from all of our friends and family.

First class experience throughout the process from design, fitting to after sales. Subcontractors for granite and electrical work similarly efficient. Overall really nice people to deal with and we are absolutely delighted with our ‘Kenton Jones’ kitchen. We have no hesitation in recommending the firm to others.

My wife and I wanted an ultra-modern, ‘Germanic’, functionality kitchen that we could cook and entertain around. We consulted with Kenton Jones and where impressed with their guidance and support. That’s only half the story as, having chosen our Nolte design and colour we needed good quality installation and service. I have ‘exacting requirements’ and was not let down; the team did what they said they would do, when they say they would do it and to a very high standard indeed. If you’re considering using Kenton Jones’s I could not recommend them enough.
