Refurbishing my flat with Powell Tuck Associates was a great decision and a wonderful experience. I enjoyed Angus Shepherd’s imaginative and modern approach to design, meticulous attention to beautiful finishes, artistic details and quality materials - as well as his and his team’s professional planning, experience in dealing with permissions , engineering calculations and clear schedule. A client feels they are not in only in capable hands, but also being given personalised passionate and friendly dedication. Can’t ask for more.

I chose Powell Tuck as architects for my London late Georgian terraced house renovation because of their experience and talent in transforming residential period property into beautiful modern homes. I was also looking for a partner who could listen to my personal vision and ideas and be able to interpret them into something magical yet also functional and practical. I truly appreciate their design sensitivity, their understanding of how to marry period charm with bold contemporary solutions - all executed with a fastidious attention to detail. They have succeeded in creating a lovely home that feels warm and friendly but also elegant and inspiring.

Our project was a London Georgian townhouse Grade II that needed to be completely gutted and then designed using a blend of the character features of the building and a modern/minimalist/artistic approach. The brief also included a space flow that would accommodate our company's office space and our residential living. The solution was brilliant. I fell in love with the Powell Tuck design the moment I saw the drawings. Now almost 20 years later that love affair is still going strong! Of the five floors, one is strictly office, one is shared as an office conference room and home kitchen/dinning. The flow works perfectly and the staff experience is as an office and our home experience it totally personal. Also a challenge was creating a feeling of light and space within the restrictions of the width of a London townhouse. Powell Tuck have a particular talent for maximising space using sweeping straight lines, skylights, and modern materials, but all done in great taste that maintains its integrity over time. There is nothing that I would do differently today. Every guest to our home land client to our office loves it and compliments the design. There is no doubt that great architecture affects your quality of life. One recommendation I would make to anyone looking to work with Powell Tuck is to take their advice as to their recommended builder. Their drawings are in great detail and builders they have worked with know best how to build to their specifications.

As clients, we were extremely happy with Powell Tuck. With an almost complete rebuild of our Victorian terrace house, they created a distinctive and unique architectural design, whilst maintaining the house’s period charm. A pleasure to work with.

We have worked with Powell-Tuck Associates many times over the last 15 years or so, working closely with the directors Angus and Adrian and many of their team members, all of whom have displayed the same energy and competence that Angus and Adrian themselves exude. PowellTuckAssociates designed the conversion and large glass extension of our family home in North London. We were impressed with their design and attention to detail in their scheme to maximise the light and space of our new home. They talked the planners through the designs which needed full planning permission and the works were completed with very few changes or amends within the agreed timeframe. The finished project has completely changed our experience of our home for the better, giving us both more light and space. People who visit are impressed with the quality and originality of the design, as well as the small details like the pivot hinge doors and wall pockets for the radiators. We found Angus to be innovative, creative and collaborative and have recommended PTA to friends who want to create an original and standout project to be proud of.
