The iceburg granite is lovely......I have been debating over marble- calcutta gold, carrera-they are just so gorgeous. My hesitation iswhat others comment about as far as etching and staining, especially in a house that is always full of kids. Once the marbles are sealed, are they more durable? Are there any other granites that would resemble those marbles?

The Iceburg granite has some quartzite in it...There is a" White Zitto "Granite that looks like marble, but has moregray veining. Marble has been around for many years, Like yourself, I love Marble.. Do some research on the marble online before you make a decision. There are some white granites, Supreme White, etc, that you can locate thru a fabricator. As with Granite, the water is the real culprit.
and the lighter the granite, the more pourous.

Thank you so much for the info. I am sooo torn and really dont know which way to go. If I can find a white granite that truly resembles marble, I would absolutely go for it, but I have a feeling that will ge quite a challenge.

There are granites that look like marble. I know a few companies that can help you out, if you are in the Ma. or Ct. areas. Below is a kitchen done in Iceburg Granite, with a marble backsplash.

Iceburg is a granite with Quartize, it is more porous than Marble, but less than a darker granite.
Antartica, is another name. White Zitto, is a white granite, that has a lot of grays. I myself like the
White Carara Marble, or The Bianco Rhino, Marble, and I don't mind if it has etchings down the road.

I would advise a l5 year sealer on same. If you email me, I can give you a contact, that can get any kind of granite (Brazil) and send same to a fabricator in S.C. and she would be happy to work with you.
