For many retailers this is a new product for 2016 and consumers a “new look”. It really started a few years ago, but only a few companies had it in stock. It is called quite a few names. Everything from Silver Cloud to Silver Athens Gray, to Cloud, Cloud Vein Cut and White Oak. The names are endless but their is just one quarry and it exports the same stone. It should have had a mass launch back in 2007 but then 2008 hit and that changed the plans.
It can be cut in different formats. 12x24”, 6x24”, 18x36”, to 3x6” and 6x12” size is irrelevant it is removed in blocks and cut.
It can also be cut into mosaics. Hexagon, Basketweave (which is popular with the darker version called Athens Gray mainly), Herringbone, Arabesque and on and on.
Here is where things get a little sticky :)
It is new. If you happen to go to the new Four Seasons in Orlando it is everywhere. It has a great appeal, it is exceptionally low maintenance and it is in magazines pushed by boutique retailers everywhere. They have to cover off all this advertising cost and their overheads, and the only way to do that. (Unless they get a Government offers a hand out) is through the product cost. Essentially you have to pay for their marketing choices. So if you end up paying $15 a Square Foot for a 12x24” version of this and buy 300 square feet you have just contributed about 50% to their fixed costs or around $2,250.00. Yes as our 12x24” version is $7.25 a a Square Foot.
That is just for the field tile. The mosaics. They are priced even higher I have seen some national boutique retailers with Arabesque prices over $80.00 a square foot. A 1x2” Basketweave $55.00 a Square Foot. Our 1x3” Herringbone is $12.95 a square foot (for 2016), but then we are not in Home and Garden, we do not have Boutique retailer stores to pay for or shareholders, private jets and other costs that companies may have.
We have literally dug this down to the bare minimum and said, what is the lowest possible price we can sell this for.
I will leave you with some screenshots from the only Google Trusted Store that sells bathroom Collections of this product in the USA (as of April 2016).
We do not sell marble, we simply have a website that provides the opportunity for consumers, retailers, designers, retailers and distributors and a blog that explains products in more detail. Our goal is 100% upfront. The choice to buy is yours.
If you are lucky enough that money does not matter and you can give away thousands of dollars then that is a great position to be in. For the rest of us, some clarity about this wonderful marble/limestone would be helpful and that is what we are attempting to do. Our biggest question in 2015 was “How are your prices so low”. So we created: a white board video and explained it.
Here are a few screen shots of the product from the only Google Trusted Store that sells it. As of April 2016.
Hexagon as it arrives we open the boxes to check the quality before shipping
It is a Good Start over Twenty different products in our collection. By mid 2017 we will have over thirty and then follow the same logic as our other collections and have a choice of over 80 different products all at the lowest possible price simply by improving the supply chain and buying in massive volumes. Available online at The Builder Depot.
This product was laid out for a customer buying 6x24", along with Herringbone, Chair Rail, Baseboard and pencil. Our difference is the huge stock pile, we can sort and select the lots to match and send pictures for approval prior to shipping.
Unless you can do this you cannot be a Google Trusted Store, well you can for a while, until negativity gets you removed.
For us this last review here in this screenshot of over 150 reviews covers best what The Builder Depot is trying to accomplish, whether it is Carrara or this marble.
I hope people find this informative, our objective is we do not sell anything. All we do is explain the facts and find the most cost effective way to provide the end user, if that is a retailer, contractor, homeowner, distributor, etc, is irrelevant it is getting it to you at the best possible price, with quality and service.
The choice for them to buy is theirs. I would recommend:
Always order samples
Always ask for pictures
Only go with Google trusted stores. If you searched and found them on Google, why are they not Google trusted? Google may have found something not quite right. It is a painless process you just have to be 100% upfront.
