After feedback on our extension that will result in an open plan space of 8m deep x 7m wide. Old edwardian building so ceilings are high at 2.6m.
Will the kitchen be gloomy?
The back aspect faces North West and will have glass crittal style doors of 4.5m wide x 2.1m high. There is a lantern which we think starts around 4.5m away from front kitchen end thsts 2.5 x 1.8m and there are also two windows near bifolds of 700 x 1035 wide on each side. So living end will be light!
In the kitchen end we currently only have one 1500mm x 1035mm window that faces south ish but will be in shadow from original house wall by 2pm (side extension) .
We will have double crittal style pocket doors into room from a well lit hallway.
The East wall is where main kitchen run fits best - but do we need a window here? We have a lots of trees from a footpath on this side. West side is where we are joined.
2 photos attached of extension plus kitchen design in current format.
sorry for the essay!!
