Is it for all the walls? If it was a fence I'd do charcoal or black, but on walls not sure that would work. Are you planning on lots of green plants? If so, I wouldn't do green but would prefer a contrast to make the plants stand out

I love green on walls, especially the sagey grey-greens. I think it will look lovely. It looks neutral enough but with a bit of a lift. Only thing is what colour sofa and furniture will you have? You need to make sure they will go. I have a pale green in my sitting room and I love it.

It's a loft style room so I would steer clear of bright paint colours. I would not emphasize the recess but paint it all one colour. Looks like it might have been an old doorway. I would paint it all white or a very light neutral with no yellow undertones and consider a larger artwork as the current one looks a bit lost. You could also wallpaper the recess with something simple. An etching style wallpaper or mural perhaps? It's a lovely bright space. I think it needs some black maybe in the frame of the artwork. This will provide depth. You could also use slatted panelling in the recess to provide a natural feel.
