As OnePlan says, layout works & not being greeted by a wc is a bonus! Get the lighting right & it won't be a problem not having a window. I would recommend having lighting switched separately as well as extractor fan,with secondary lighting for when you may need to use the wc in the night etc & don't want to be blinded by the main lights - wall lights or LEDs at low level under vanity unit, left wall & right wall from end of bath to wc for example. Invest in a mirrored cabinet with integrated lighting & shaver socket & would recommend a large mirror on the left wall to make the room feel more spacious. We have fitted a mirror from ikea several times on previous projects, 2m x 80cm for £80. Regarding tile choice I wouldn't be to concerned about the finish of the tile if your lighting is right. I have gone with the same tile for both walls & floor in ensuite & small bathrooms which helps the room feel bigger. Whites & neutral tones are always a winner in smaller spaces. Will it be Ok if your future 15 year old daughter is walking downstairs in pjs to have a shower at 11am on morning because she prefers the shower downstairs? What’s the route to the shower in relation to public space where you are entertaining friends? will guests have to queue to use the loo while she is bathing? We have en-suite with stand alone bath with hand held shower and separate cave shower - luxury by previous owner. Bath rarely used but looks amazing. Our teenagers share main bathroom with shower over bath. As Johnathan says speed is the essence of the game - bath rarely used by eldest only, shower is their preference. Another question is whether you are in forever home, or may sell in the future - bath preferred by families with very small children and many families see altering bathroom to reinstall bath with power shower for adults a game changer due to expense. The answer to your issue must include how your family like to bathe, the future of your home and the position of your downstairs bathroom.

We have recently had a J shaped bath fitted. The side panel wraps round. It was fitted separately but has not been secured properly as it is not very stable. I think a wooden frame should have been built first and the panel attached, so that it is supported. Has anyone else had this kind of problem and what was your solution?
