totally agree with all the comments. your kitchen is lovely, it just looks a little bare as you've not moved in and lived in it yet. Add some plants, add some accessories, get some warmth into the room. you could add some glass to the walls - particularly in the recess of your range cooker. I love the stone mantel. your room is gorgeous. I don't agree with the comments on your floor, it looks to me like it tones with the mantel. kitchens always look bare until they've been accessorised - this room has been brought to life by our clients use of accessories.

I must admit I am scratching my head a bit on this one - the two slightly different shades of cream don't make it easy! If everything wasn't split new, I think I would be recommending changing the tiles. I'm not a fan of painting tiles either, but I am really at a loss as to what to suggest. A teal perhaps or verdigris, but I think whatever colour you pick, the tile/cabinet combination may still feel a little unbalanced. Might be worth thinking what you can do to mask the tiles with nicely coloured appliances, possibly an accessory rail, fruit bowl, plants/herbs etc.

Hi Claire, You have a lovely space to work with and it’s great to hear that you’re up for doing a bit of DIY! In regards to the coffee table, go for it! It’s a lovely design and will complement the characteristics of the room perfectly. I’d dress the table with a gorgeous green plant - not only will this add vibrant colour, but also adds life to your space and is guaranteed to make you smile. As suggested by Minnie, a floor standing plant situated underneath your fitted wall shelves will add a feature to this corner of your room. If you fancy doing a little bit of painting, why not head to your nearest charity shop and find a sweet side table to place to the left of your sofa or either side of your armchair? Choose your favourite Dulux paint colour (in a Satinwood finish) and paint your table to add a personalised touch to your space! This will create such a lovely statement as you enter the room, especially if you choose a beautiful blue to create that coastal look. Adding a side lamp to the side table will add height and a lovely ambiance to your room, especially in the evenings when you’re snuggled up watching TV. The actual bathroom is nice, but sorry to say it’s all your clutter that is the problem. Sorry to be Honest! You need enclosed storage to hide everything away. A mirrored wall cupboard above the sink would be a start, and then another floor cupboard in place of the metal unit. Also get rid of the toilet mat, they are unhygienic and old fashioned. Duck egg is a lovely colour to go with your beige bathroom, so if you want to carry on the theme get some nice towels either in duck egg or white. Get rid of the pink. When that is all done, you can dress the room with pot plants, either real or faux, and some nice hand wash on the sink. Here’s a few ideas for storage. If budget is tight, buy an old cupboard from a charity shop and paint it either white or match it with the tiling or a colour from the smaller tiles.
