Hi there, We have a couple of darker option, I believe when going for a dark flooring it tends to create a more warm and cosy feel. We have a couple of option in stock that may be something of interest, these options are engineered boards. The first option we would have is the Pyrenees Smoked Oak, this is a stunning wide oak board. With the wider planks it creates depth to the room like no other board. On another note, it is also available inHerringbone style. The second option would be our gorgeous Hand scraped Geneva oak, with the deep rich colour, it gives the room a fantastic rich feel. The Third option we would have in stock would be our Oslo Oak, This board is relatively dark compared to the boards mentioned above. Do you have an idea on the exact colour you would be looking for? Even a picture of something you have seen? We may have a product in stock to match exactly what your looking for. If you do have any queries please do not hesitate to get in touch via email, Info@floormonster.co.uk or you can call us directly on 0141 887 5698. Kind Regards, Floor Monster Team

For a hallway + kitchen leading outside, porcelain tile (wood effect) is the more practical option. It handles dirt, water, and heavy traffic really well, and you won’t be worrying every time someone walks in with wet shoes. You’re right though, it can feel colder and harder underfoot. If you’ve got underfloor heating, that pretty much solves the “cold” issue, but it will still feel firmer than wood. Engineered wood will feel warmer and softer, and looks beautiful, but in that kind of space it does need a bit more care. Over time you can get wear near doors, and you’ll need to be mindful of moisture. If it were me, for a busy indoor-outdoor space in London, I’d probably go porcelain for durability, especially if you’ve got UFH. If comfort matters more and you don’t mind a bit of upkeep, then engineered wood is still a lovely choice. - Georgia from Flooring365.co.uk

Sadolin superdec may be what you are after but beware, a weathered look is a specialist finish. You cAnt really buy "weathered" it is after all an effect. I would say just give whatever you are using one coat, which would more than likely give it a worn look but it's not really a practical idea as when it's needs recoating it will give a stronger colour Alternatively give it a watery coat then varnish it to protect it

Hi Lou. I remember seeing this one on houzz previously. It wasn't a bad price either https://www.houzz.co.uk/photos/industrial-grey-antique-oak-parquet-harley-street-london-scandinavian-kitchen-london-phvw-vp~24486693
