On the Funky Chunky website if you search 4x6 oak mantel beam it shows similar to what you’re envisaging but they’ve filled the space below with logs. As you have no space below it may look a bit odd just having a mantel on the wall. Have you thought about putting an electric stove in front? Or placing a small side board or console there? And one more point, be wary of placing a tv too high for comfortable viewing.
